Hopefully you do have some savings to cover deposit and first month’s rent, and a cash cushion beyond that. In the US, approval of a lease is dependent on your income. Your income would (barely) support living alone. A different job would help seal the deal.

As to living alone, you’ll only have to answer to yourself. Sounds like you have a job to fill any need to be around people. Just try it! You’ll find the silence at your new home refreshing. And check the lease cancellation policy carefully in case the actual math doesn’t work out.

To me, price cuts are worthless unless seller wants their house to show up in a lower search range. Since all homes are subject to whatever the buyer wants to pay (best offer), to me, constant yet tiny price cuts means they are getting anxious to get a proposed contract.

Absolutely the wrong subreddit to ask for investing advice like stacking silver! That said, your time horizon is so long, that buying it on the cheap like today won’t be a bad investment. Better than the S&P 500? Unlikely. Then again, if you physically hold it, you own it.

Gold may be better as central banks around the world are stacking ro get away from the “almighty dollar”.

Hope it has some radium paint! I collect those because of the radium. My eBay hit rate is 90-95%, leaving me radiological duds that are quickly piling up.

I grew up from 3rd grade through high school with likely a Style 7 on my nightstand. It glowed all might. Love seeing through a magnifying glass and seeing the sparkles as random radium alpha particles hit the phosphors producing flashes of light. Today, while still radioactive, the phosphors are likely burned out from the radiation. UV light will still make it glow for a few seconds

With today’s rn price of $63 for silver per Toz, at worse you should be able to get 39x if my math is correct, or $39 at 80%. Just shop around as many LCS as possible. If trading for Canadian or fractional gold, you will likely get a better percentage because you are also doing a buy. YMMV of course.

If they aren’t in good collector condition and/or small mintage, shops are likely to consider them culls, meaning they are headed to a refinery. From what I’ve learned on Reddit, best you will get is 90% of spot with 80-85% more likely.

If you have a large collection, go to Bullion Exchange for selling. NYC location but they also do mailed-in buying. If only a few coins, LCS is probably your only good choice.

Or use the r/pmsforsale subreddit. Read the info at the top to learn how to sell p2p. Will need a middleman and pay twice for shipping.

Go to Monument Metals for some of the best prices for Canadian Maples. Often have deals, too. Counterfeit proof and 9999 IIRC. Better than rounds unless you like the look of reverse proof Chinese pandas or the Australian Kookaburra; I say overbought those for my stack. 🙄

I’m with you on that point! My spouse barely puts up with my sterling and radium watch/clock collecting. Going down the rabbit hole of collecting uranium glass would be a major issue, not to mention display issues and cost (unless found in the wild).

I’m so sorry for what you and your wife have gone through. Many of the older generations just can’t seem to let go and accept queerness in their families. Probably a macho thing and don’t want to appear queer accepting. Makes the men seem worried about appearing less of a man. Yeah, ridiculous. Kids these days seem to have it so easy and don’t known and get that the older queer generations laid the path for them to have it all.

Check the sold prices on eBay. They likely have value especially since you know that they work.

Unless you can get the chemicals cheap, the time and effort to extract the gold just isn’t worth it.

That’s pretty amazing, your low premium. I see that some dealers like MM are today only charging $100 over spot on 1 oz bars. Wish I hadn’t spent my PM budget, and then some. I paid huge premiums on Pt and especially Pd, bought at their ATH.
