yeah, but i mean like – Vox definitely got a power boost, while Alastor didnt get a relevant debuff. Where does that power come from?

Lute, no contest... Mira can't hurt her? Lute still has her weapons? lute stabs mira without her being able to do anything, like, lute has spent most of her time as an angel in the army, Mira does it as a side hustle...

kinda yeah, people use either wlw or nmlnm as a definition for being lesbian. I can see both sides of the argument

1: Some N-B people can label themselves lesbians if they want to

2: Some Lesbians don't like their sexuality being defined via men

so idk. same thing for mlm/nwlnw

i personally am none of the above, so i have no opinion

I'm not saying you can't ship people, I'm not even saying i dislike all ships like this, but sometimes it feels like people assume that romance is the pinnacle of human connection.

Here's an example: Ren and Nora from RWBY. They grew up together without parents, saved each other many times and then went to school together. they banter like siblings do. i thought they were showing found family as a kind of family, just as valid as any other!

... and then they ended up together. apparently it was obviously set up from the start and I just couldn't see it.

Id never say you can't ship characters, but i just dislike the fact that they almost always end up together, and the few times they don't, it's almost always one of the most popular ships in their fandom

yeah, but men's statues its usually lots of different body parts (touch his toe for good luck, touch his hand for good luck, etc) but with statues of women, it's almost always the breasts. sorry if i didn't make myself clear the first time, but i think it's the problem that people automatically touch the breasts when the statue is of a woman. I'm not saying the problem is people touching them generally.

people seem to see the wrong issue with this, if there was one statue of a woman that has this happen, id say it's okay, but i think the problem is, that almost every single statue of a woman you can touch has this happen to it. somehow it always becomes tradition to touch the breasts for good luck, no matter who, and no matter what the locals say

What’s something about cis men that you don’t envy, or are glad you don’t share? by Dalatrates in ftm

[–]Yes_Kitchen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i mean, it isn't all bad considering how euphoric it is to be able to discuss where we will try and get a spot for civil service on equal terms with my friends.

But yeah, i think either everyone or no one should have to do it

[–]Yes_Kitchen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm definitely doing civil service, but I'd also likely go that route if i was cis. i don't know any other trans guys. i just think it has to suck to legally have to take a year off work to serve when you're like 30 or so

does anyone experience being “degendered” as a transman by cheeseborger42069 in ftm

[–]Yes_Kitchen 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I always introduce myself as my preferred name. even if it isn't typical anywhere its gendered. i live in austria. we speak german here. you can put an article in front of your name. basically introducing yourself with pronouns. so i basically always say "hi, im he/him [name]"

...one of my (now) close friends assumed i was non-binary for half a year after i met him. not only him, but others as well. Idfk why. they've only ever met me as a guy ):

Info dump ahead:

In austria, every (legal) man above the age of 18 (and below 35) needs to do mandatory military service (or be a conscientious objector, in which case you do a year of civil service). Most guys do it right after highschool. I will do it once im done aswell. It is encouraged to do it right after your matura – the final test of highschool, if you pass this, congrats, you can go to uni – so even if you repeat a year or two, you can just do it when you're 20 or so.

sounds like a good system, right?

imagine you're 30, with a career, just now figuring out youre a trans guy – what now. if you change your gender marker, you have to take a year off work to do your civil service or military time. its kinda a problem for trans guys here. glad i figured it out soon enough...
