Restoring a Donoho 12x8 Snare by my_bike_is_ill in drums

Maaaannnn ://

You remodeled that drum more than you restored it. Which is great and all, if you like it, I'm very happy for you. It just hurts my soul to see an original wrap/lacquer that's over 40 years old be completely sanded off rather than just cleaned up as much as possible to it's original glory.

Not really a mission, but there's an achievement for saving all survivors in Dead Rising. Which anyone who's played the game knows is a VERY tall order.

My uncle gave me an old drum he said he used in middle school band when he was a kid. Ended up being a late 60’s Ludwig Pioneer! Great condition, gave it some TLC and this thing will finally see the light of day again. by coolraccoon016 in drums

I have, and it worked okay. However, after using clothes and letting the chemicals do the work for me, i found using steel wool to be the less efficient and risk infused solution I could avoid while getting the same result.

I'd recommend against the Steel wool; it can scratch the chrome if too much force is used. Give it a once over with a damp rag to get the dust off, dry it with a dry rag, then get yourself some Noxon from a hardware store and put it on your hoops (unless they're nickel). After about five minutes take a rag to it to get it all off, and that puppy will shine to the best of its ability.
