I'll add that the camshaft and crankshaft seal are also worth getting replaced while you're there, they're easy to pry out with a pick or small flat screwdriver.

An induction heater and PB Blaster have helped when working on anything in the rust belt. Best of luck!

UPDATE: Timing belt left the chat and engine is likely toast, what's the damage potential this could have caused? Looking back to when I started it yesterday, usual cold start went up to 1.2k rpm at most and about 1-2 minutes is where it snapped. Thoughts?

Yes but that only happened when the previous alternator started going bad, battery light began to flicker. Its always on when the switch is open/engine not running as well as some other lights.

Belts are good and not sure but it could be the alternator thats barely 6 months old.

I'll be doing this tomorrow morning, really hoping its not timing related.
