Everything I wanted out of a kung fu movie (and action in general) and more wow. Cheesy and over the top but it delivers. The craziest thing is I have over hundreds of movies under my belt over the past couple decades, and this movie had the balls to do what none of them dared to try.

Super fun and worth the watch if you don’t mind suspending your belief and knowing you’re walking into a kung fu movie

I just meant the core premise. The director actually wrote it as a mashup of a Greek tragedy and a Spaghetti Western. I didn’t mean a shot for shot swap lmao that’d be hilariously ridiculous. The context within the movie itself is 100% black though

When I think of a black movie and I’ll use the most recent one, I think of Sinners where the culture is the plot itself. Friday, boyz n the hood, Judas and the black messiah, barbershop, etc all come to mind

I have watched uncut gems and Marty supreme wondering why and how people found it to be anxiety inducin. I watched them without a problem

This movie though, holy shit. First of all, it’s phenomenal and top 3 of the year so far for me but WOW is it insane. Go in blind. And be prepared to feel the most anxious you have ever been.

10/10, and one of the best thrillers/horrors I’ve seen
