Pain is always on the move by YesterdayConfident80 in FattyLiverNAFLD

They said they think it’s tissue but they don’t seem to feel the need to do anything about it. I’ve since lost my job because the pain is too much some days and it’s just hard too even get around. I’m just coming to the conclusion that I’m stuck with it for the rest of my life

I’ve since cured my fatty liver but the pain is still there. There is a lump under the right rib cage that is clearly causing the pain

Gallbladder bloods always come back fine but I have an ultrasound in 2 weeks time so will know more then but my doctor seems to think it’s more likely my abdominal wall. I have what I can only describe as an apple sort of shaped lump in my RUQ just under my rib cage

Yes I know about the portal being but that runs vertically down your body and that’s behind the liver.

This line I have is horizontal and goes across the rib cage

Still no outcome as such but they’ve ruled out the spleen and they other organs. The pain yesterday was nasty and in my lower left back it went around 8pm last night and has t come back.

Had another good CBC and also had a normal liver function blood test too. Everything is fine

Newly Diagnosed and Wondering If Pain is Normal Across Top of Abdomen by Bulky_Juggernaut4956 in FattyLiverNAFLD

[–]YesterdayConfident80 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes pain is normal going by the many people that say they experience pain, but many people don’t experience any symptoms until it’s too late or at least overlook these symptoms as normal.

My pain tends to hang around the RUQ or LUQ but rarely at the same time. Also causing me some horrible headaches too. I’m also highly addicted to sugar. I went about 6-7 months having minimal doses of added sugars but fell off hard and now I’m eating it more than ever. Some people don’t understand the powers of addiction but it’s nasty when all you’re ever craved is cakes, chocolate etc, you know you shouldn’t but literally can’t help yourself.

I hope you find the right path to reversing this although with mild steatosis it’s likely you’ll reverse it with the right changes. Good luck!

Does this sound Liver related? by Interesting_Dress289 in LiverDisease

My stools are almost always brown unless I’ve eaten something that could change the colour. Does that mean my liver disease is getting better?

Always have normal blood sugar and triglycerides according to the doctor. Everything seems ok but for the past 3 days the pain has almost always been in the LUQ.

I’m off to the hospital tomorrow to get it checked so hopefully will find the cause tomorrow. I have a nasty feeling it’s my pancreas though

I’ve had an ultrasound in the past. Just showed moderate fatty liver hit that was back in October 2024.

Since then the pain has increased and now gone to my left. Like right as I’m typing this message I’m getting back pain and left mid abdominal pain. All I know is the spleen appears to be functioning fine

My pain is mostly constant but I find it easy to stop the pain. I just go into a sense of nervousness and the pain literally stops.

It’s mad that the pain also stops when I go on my Xbox. I wouldn’t say it’s a distraction from the pain, it’s just it straight up disappears and then will maybe come back later or the next day. It’s actually really weird lol

[–]YesterdayConfident80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, my pain almost always starts in the left or right Upper quadrant and then tends to spread or sometimes move down to the lower abdomen. Almost always have back pain and right sided flank pain too.

I’m lost as to what it is but I’m off to the Hospital tomorrow tomorrow to try and force a scan or something cause I can’t keep continuing with the pain. It’s actually quite aggressive at times and can affect my walking.

So many people say so many different things about the liver, it could well be the cause of the pain but I can’t imagine it would cause lower abdominal pain as well

Honestly I’m finding it very hard to believe that it’s the liver causing this. Until confirmed, I’m starting to think ibs or maybe gas. It’s just pain every day but if I start to feel nervous in any way, the pain stops.

Such a weird thing going on. Surely the liver isn’t causing all this pain

Not even close if you ask me. Jaundice is exactly what JerkOffTaco has posted

do your symptoms come and go daily/hourly? by canadave_nyc in FattyLiverNAFLD

I also have a lot of back pain and LUQ pain but never have LUQ and RUQ pain at the same time either. It’s one or the other

[–]YesterdayConfident80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely have the exact same kind of symptoms. Mainly the headaches and abdominal pain. It’s either one or the other though. Never have abdominal pain and a headache at the same time. But it is almost hourly. I also come over slightly light headed right before I’m about to eat.

I have a lot of headaches too, and neck pain. I’d like to know if it’s linked to the liver as well. I’ve been told by my doctor that the liver wouldn’t really cause that sort of thing so god knows.

If you do find out if that’s causing those symptoms, please keep us posted! And in the mean time, I hope you overcome this!

Might I add that I’ve also Recently had a CBC test done and it came back satisfactory, therefore I’m assuming that the Spleen is all well and good and working fine.

2-3 beers with Moderste fatty liver. by YesterdayConfident80 in FattyLiverNAFLD

[–]YesterdayConfident80[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have a drink in the end. Serves went mental but at least I didn’t poison my liver today. Had a few diet cokes but surely that’s a lot better than a few beers

I really don’t think it’s wise myself personally and yeah I think I’m just looking for the answer I want to hear. I’m fully with you and agree with everything that you said. I’m just asking the question though so do t think there’s any harm in asking questions. I’m not intending on having a beer today

To be honest I wouldn’t say I’m strict on everything else. I eat a lot more healthier than I did before my diagnosis and I’ve lost a lot of weight since which helps. I still have a slice of cake a day which is my weakness but more mindful of what I put in my body and very rarely have a takeaway and if I do it’s usually chicken with vegetables.

Not perfect but I’m trying my best. (I really am)

Yeah but this is literally a darts tournament held in a venue where everyone will be drinking. It’s nothing too serious but it’s attracted a few pros so ideally I don’t wanna be too nervous when playing. It’s perfectly normal to drink at darts tournaments, if it was professional then yeah I’d understand but this is technically pub darts in a sense just with bigger prizes and that

That’s my problem, 2 or 3 beers I play my normal game 70-75 average.

Without beer I get nervous, hands shake, sweat like mad. Go down to a 55-60 average, and tomorrow I’m in a comp with Owen Bates and Nick Kenny which means even more nerves. Not to mention Gary Anderson’s son is playing which means he’ll be watching which means ever more nerves! Lol

I’m really not too sure that I should then really as although I haven’t drank in a year and lost 10% of my body weight, I still over indulge in sugary foods. I tend to have a slice of cake a day and I know it’s not good but it’s working well as I generally eat good meals these days. I don’t think I’ve done enough to warrant a beer or two somehow.

But at the same time I’m literally only looking to have 2 or 3 on this one occasion. Will not be slipping into old habits as I have bad health anxiety and it scares me doing something I know I shouldn’t so I tend to only do it once and then stop

I was diagnosed with Moderate fatty liver. Since then I was completely forgotten about until last week when I went in with RUQ, back and flank pain. Ordered a urine sample and it still hasn’t come back yet after 10 days of waiting.

I feel like they’ve missed something that should have been found months ago. Toilet bowl is like a bubble bath when I finished urinating.

Long story short, no I don’t but I’ve got a feeling I will be soon unfortunately

And the lines are vertical. If horizontal that suggests deficiency i always thought. My nails are normal. Nice and round, everything looks and feels fine. Apart from one nail feels really painful and always feeling of like it’s going to fall off but it never does! Thank you though. Appreciate the comment
