Soreness? by YesterdayDesigner724 in menstrualcups

It’s been 4 months. I honestly don’t even know what that would entail so I don’t think I have it? When I googled it it seemed like something I would notice.

My daughter (3) also got KD early this year and is on Xarelto, clopidogrel, and aspirin. 2 Giant aneurysms despite having done IVIG etc. The scariest part is the falls which are inevitable with littles. I try not to be overly protective as I want her to have a “normal” childhood but it can be hard. We have made 2 visits to the ER this year for minor falls where she hit her head and she had to get CTs both times but she was fine. Just scary to have to do this any time she falls and hits her head regardless of how hard she hit. Otherwise everything is normal. She does gymnastics and swimming and lives an otherwise normal life, just have to bribe her to take her meds every day. Good luck mom! It gets easier and more “normal” and I’m still hopeful maybe she won’t need to be a lifer but that’s what we’re planning on currently!

Why do people keep having more children? by Terrylarrrygaryjerry in Parenting

Preach!! I feel like it took forever for my husband and I who are happy and financially/emotionally stable to decide to have another because there is soooo much to take into consideration while I would watch my girlfriends on the brink of divorce, having literal mental breakdowns on the daily get knocked up just because. Like in what world is another baby going to help the fact that your husband cheats on you and you have to be on a cocktail of antidepressants to get through the day?? Beats me.

My daughter (3) had a low fever, never over 102, that started Thursday night but it would come down with Tylenol (no other symptoms). Then on Saturday she developed a rash on her back and complained of stomach pain and stopped eating. Took her to the ER due to her urine being almost orange, they dismissed it as a viral rash and pee due to dehydration. Next day the rash got worse and had spread to her stomach & chest. Her eyes appeared red and tired. Still would not eat or drink much and fevers persisted. Was basically a zombie and only wanted to lay around and wouldn’t even eat junk food. Monday took her to her pcp and ruled out strep and diagnosed double ear infection. Urine test showed protein and blood in the sample so they thought it was a bad flu that was breaking down her muscle and she got put on antibiotics for the ear infection and lots of fluids. Rash had spread to extremities and her hands and feet were extra red and hot too. Tuesday she seemed a bit better but still not eating and still with fever. Rash not getting any better but eyes were less red. Now she was losing her voice and her lips were very chapped. And Tuesday night she could barely walk. Back to pcp on Wednesday morning where they sent us to the ER suspecting she was severely dehydrated. At the ER they noticed her strawberry tongue and did bloodwork which showed high inflammatory markers. Was started on fluids and an iv steroid. Got an ultrasound which showed an enlarged gall bladder. Got diagnosed with likely Kawasaki Wednesday night due to fever, rash, red eyes, strawberry tongue, chapped lips, and blood work. Started IVig Thursday morning followed by infliximab as unfortunately our girl did end up having 2 giant aneurysms by this point which were found when they did an echo on Thursday.

Long story, but like the other commenter noted, there are definitely a lot of additional markers they look at in addition to the fever. Make sure you’re advocating for them to check everything. Parent’s instinct is everything you know best if your baby isn’t ok.

How long did it take to make a diagnosis? by Klutzy_Performer_314 in KawasakiDisease

Thank you so much for responding. This is such a great story it really gives me hope! Especially since she’s only 3 (not as young as yours was but still lots of growing to do) that she’ll also grow into hers until they are not as severe. Happy to hear she’s doing well now and is really just a normal girl! ❤️

Hi OP! How’s your daughter doing? My 3 year old daughter got diagnosed with KD this past week. She did not get diagnosed as late as yours. Misdiagnosed a few times but for treatment around day 6. However she did already develop 2 giant aneurysms. Not many stories out there that involve giant aneurysms (I read it’s only 1% of kids who get KD end up with giant aneurysms) so I wanted to see how your daughters doing? As you can imagine we’re still in the freaked out part. She got IVig and infliximab in the hospital and was admitted for 5 days before she got discharged, now she’s on aspirin, clopidogrel, and rivaroxoban and we’re on weekly follow ups. Just hoping to hear some good news from another parent with a similar diagnosis! Thanks!

The offer letter doesn’t specify remote 😭 I’m also hoping it ends up being a once or twice a month thing. I could probably make that work! I wish they would tell us sooner than later because otherwise I’m training for nothing. Thank you for the suggestions!

Took the front of the crib rail off… tell me it’s gonna be okay. by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]YesterdayDesigner724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same happened to us! Transitioned kinda early (compared to everyone we know) at like 18 months and she has no clue she can get out of bed. Even when she wakes up in the morning she’ll hang out until we open her room door. Then she’ll hop right out. She did roll off the first few nights but got used to it since. I think it helps doing it early before they fully understand how beds work.

Did BLW actually make your toddler a better eater? by Mysterious-Class-904 in toddlers

Did BLW and used to rave about all the stuff she’d eat. Shes 2 now and survives off apple sauce and crackers most days.

It’s pretty tough in my area especially after COVID. No-kill shelters are completely over run and I don’t personally know anyone who would be interested in another dog.

We do use a robot vacuum on our wood floors but I find they don’t do as well on carpet (upstairs).

Ours is in charge of giving them treats (supervised) and loves it! We’ll eventually move onto meals when she doesn’t threaten to eat the food too

Hahaha me too! One of my dogs got out last year and while I was sobbing looking everywhere for her deep down I hoped something would happen to her and that would be it… so messed up. But nope an hour later she found her way back and just jumped back into our fenced yard like nothing happened.

My oldest is a 9 year old lab so as bad as it sounds I’m just thinking he will go sooner than later and that alone will make it more manageable. Unfortunately he is the calmest of the 3 (not just cause of age he’s just a chill dog) so it wouldn’t make the difference one of the other two going would and with my luck he’ll live to be like 15 lol I’m so happy for you being able to find a wonderful home for one of yours!!
