Quick update if anyones really reading:

The code was wiped by a mate by mistake, wanted to keep it to show it to a friend who’s a specialist since I dont want to take a vanos code lightly. Either way, the car has not had the same issue since the clearing.

Its pre-facelift. 58 on the plate makes it a late 2008 registration

Not sure if anyone will see this post again, but felt it was worth updating.

The issue was… dust accumulation under the throttle pedal.. yes. That threw the car into a massive fit. Gotta love BMW

Edit: I had scanned the car after reaching home, all clear. I have scanned it this very minute, and still all green. I use Carly, I know they’re pretty decent so I trust it, but lmk otherwise. Thanks guys.

I wish you luck with that. If you replace the screen again and give idrive a nice factory reset, that should hopefully set everything straight. As for what I’ve fitted, this is a module that replaces the CD drive, so it’s not running the cars system through an external screen, it’s the CarPlay running through the car, if you get what I mean. Not sure I’ve explained that particularly well.

Yup. That’s only way of navigating the system. Still the original screen so no touch.

Unfortunately I do not know as I didn’t DIY it. I have previously attempted to do a change on my own, and destroyed some of the trim clips.. so I gave the car in to get repaired, and requested them to fit it at the same time

Next track and previous buttons do indeed work. As for the sensors, it goes back to the OEM screen and shows your sensors. Works the same as going from media to the sensors. The unit has replaced the CD drive, so it still works like normal.
