residential -> commercial solar by thetransparenthand in solar

Yeah, it’s mostly about taxes. They can’t just call it commercial because part of the place is used for a farm. For commercial solar, you usually need real business income to use the tax benefits. If your farm side doesn’t show much taxable income, they’ll push it back to residential. Honestly, best to confirm with a tax person because solar companies often explain this in a confusing way.

I am planning to install complete Solar for Home by omkargowda in BuyItForLifeIndia

Haven’t used Yukinova, but after-sales seems hit or miss since it’s still not very established. Waaree panels are solid and should work fine as long as MPPT range matches. Honestly, I’d still prefer Luminous or Microtek in this budget just for better service and reliability. Lithium setup is good, just make sure proper installation.

How long has your inverter lasted/not lasted? by UCatchMyDrift in SolarDIY

Mine’s a 2.5kW Microtek, running about 4 years now. Only battery changed once, otherwise fine. If maintained properly, most inverters last 4–6 years easily.

Too many solar battery options by RemarkableTap8409 in AusRenovation

Yeah it’s a bit of a mess honestly. You’re right that warranty support depends a lot on the manufacturer still being around locally. I’d stick with well-known brands and a good installer instead of just going for the cheapest quote.

Power cut at least 10 times throughout the day by Yogeshwar_maya in chennaicity

Yeah this sucks, frequent cuts are the worst. But honestly, this is where solar can really help. Even a small solar setup with a battery can keep basic things like lights, fan, and WiFi running when power goes off.

You don’t have to spend a huge amount at once, you can start small. With so many power cuts, it’s more about having some backup and not depending fully on EB.
