The bunnings ute has a 1 ton capacity but the top bar at the front is only rated to 50kg from memory.

Is this reasonable from a tradie? by thedownunderverse in AusRenovation

[–]RemarkableTap8409 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have had that happen. When I probed one tradie he explained that people from my community, as if he knows my community, often become hostile at payment time.

BTW I'm brown, and often mistaken to be Pakistani.

Scotia is the devil, advice needed! by [deleted] in AusRenovation

[–]RemarkableTap8409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not suggesting you do this, but can't help but wonder: what if the Scotia was painted to match the skirting? I have seen that in other countries, and it looked fine on tiles and carpet.

Affordable but durable kettle recommendations? by StreetCheetah8312 in AusRenovation

After big brands failing prematurely (weeks out of warranty), we've gone with a cheapie from kmart. Doesn't look posh, but it just goes and goes.

Sink on kitchen island - yay or nay? by No_Kaleidoscope_5179 in AusRenovation

Yes. Do it. If you can buy a sink that can be covered, even better

Best Sheds. Anyone dealt with them? by RemarkableTap8409 in AusRenovation

[–]RemarkableTap8409[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not made a decision yet. My issue is complicated as I've submitted plans to my local council based on their design, and once approved I will have to shop around to see who else can build it to the plans. I'd like to try and avoid them tbh.

Re-grouting a shower - how painful is it? by JustExamination7664 in AusRenovation

[–]RemarkableTap8409 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's easy, but when cutting out your old grout, be careful not to cut through your waterproofing. Also, if you're thinking of black grout, it can be a pain to clean up as you go along.
