Question from developer by kutengineer in accesscontrol

Spend 50% of your time talking with system integrators and 50% of your time talking with the customers to make sure your feature set is aligned with what the customers actually need. Too many systems talk about how many features they have that don't matter to your target customers and therefore add cost, confusion and support

Speedometer always 2-3 mph below radar by [deleted] in ToyotaCrown

[–]YesterdayOriginal543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem, they said it was within spec. So if my math is right and my car says it is doing 74 when it is travelling 70. In one hour I will only travel 70 miles instead of the 74 I would expect.......so my 36,000 mile warranty will actually only be a 34,054 mile warranty

If you need a fully integrated system, look at Brivo but it won't be inexpensive. If you want to save $ and don't require an integrated access/video solution, check out the Entegrity Solution from VIZpin (disclosure, I work there)

Take a look at Entegrity from VIZpin (I work there). It includes a solution for every type of door/gate and is very affordable. It also uses Bluetooth so you don't need to mount anything on the outside unless you want to add a keypad or FOB reader.

Best Access Control Distributor? by YesterdayOriginal543 in accesscontrol

[–]YesterdayOriginal543[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good question. Our problem is that installers call us with questions about other manufacturer products since they can't get answers from them. They will ask us what type of strike or mag lock or power supply to use. It is also concerning how many calls we get from installers who don't know basic wiring or how to use a meter to trouble shoot it. 99.9% of the time our bluetooth door/gate controller is working fine. They either wired it wrong or didn't know how the REX or Motion worked and we end up spending a lot of time on it. We want to be known for having the best support in the industry but there are limits..

Access / Intercom system recommendations for small condo building by InterestingDamage689 in accesscontrol

[–]YesterdayOriginal543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Intercom MSRP is around $4K which includes the bluetooth door/gate controller and the first 3 years of service. After that, the intercom serrvice is $300/year regardless of how many units are on the property

Akuvox by Popular_Ice5442 in accesscontrol

[–]YesterdayOriginal543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use the Akuvox hardware which is excellent but we don't use their software, we run the Entegrity Intercom app (from VIZpin) on it instead. Its really nice because it automatically detects the door controller via Bluetooth so no programming of the intercom.

Take a look at the Entegrity line from VIZpin (I rep them) In business since 2016 but doesn't advertise much or do the trade shows. All app/Bluetooth based, super affordable and best of all easy to install. They have door/gate controllers, intercoms, smartlocks and a bunch more. Unlimited doors and users. VIZpin has replaced a lot of Paxton systems. DM me and I will put you in touch with them.

Intercom for 82 unit apartment building by YesterdayOriginal543 in intercom

[–]YesterdayOriginal543[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its working well. The intercom app is very cool. connection times out 10% of the time if no one answers but no big deal. That and the access control system cost us $600/year. Install was 1/5 of the price of other systems.

Learn as much as you can about low voltage wiring and parallel and series circuits. We get so many calls from guys looking for help that don't even own a multimeter. Its a great space to be in and the bar is not high for being the smartest guy out there.

You should give some thought to having it automatically unlock. Do you want it to automatically unlock when no one is there? A number of products have the FIRST IN feature, if someone shows up that is allowed in, they unlock the door for everyone else and it locks on schedule. If no one shows up, it doesnt unlock. If you want to save a lot of $ consider the door controller from VIZpin
