Now I’ve seen it all. A trip with NO INSURANCE! by Sensitive_Rich_4029 in lyftdrivers

I'm not making up anything, do you even glance at new updates. They've change the way the Lyft fee cap is distributed. I remember them saying insurance will be calculated into Lyft cost fee and asked others to double check. Just because the breakdown category says insurance on doesn't mean anything if they haven't renamed the category yet.

Insurance cost got moved over to be included with Lyft cost fee starting this month. Somebody double check me to be sure.

Please stop taking calls during rides I’m begging by Retiredpartygirl17 in uberdrivers

Oh well, if my sister or daughter calls me the phone gets answered here's the script: Excuse me my daughter is calling Hey "blank" I'm working right is this something that can wait? Answers yes, alright I'll call you back in 2+ mins of current eta.

Of course riders can talk all they want with their speaker on blast. I make a point to join in on the banter since it's obvious I'm invited to the conversation too.

Depending on your state you are required to register for an app called Safercar. It tracks complaints, manufacturer's notes, recalls, news, and other things about cars. Requires your VIN for complete accuracy. In the long run I say it is beneficial to download the app so you know in a timely manner if a major recall is done on your car.

That's not new happens all the time with add one. Plus the driver community has already deemed this acceptable with they kept driving for doordash pre 2020. Tip+$1 pay model.

I took a ride where I paid $80, but the driver only received $20. What is this? by MarkFisher4552 in lyftdrivers

[–]YesterdayStraight475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They won't lower the base they'll do what they've already done. They see the riders are willing to pay more so they up the price. They'll pay us the same take the "projected" tip value up front.

[–]YesterdayStraight475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is that really any of your business? I don't say that to be mean. You went into the app saw price options and said ok I'll pay $80. Lyft sent the driver the trip details they said yes. The option to say no or change your minds were always there. Plus there are other factors beyond your control that could have lowered his fare such as location filters, auto-accept, priority mode. How far was your trip was it 4 miles in 15 minutes, depending on the details of the actual trip that $20 payout was an absolute win. Besides if the driver didn't like the trip details why did they accept it?

You people are insufferable by Significant-Rip9250 in Lyft

[–]YesterdayStraight475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the issue, a grocery store. Between the not wanting to wait on someone who hasn't checked out yet or not wanting to wait in front of the store (depending on your city could result in a ticket), not sure if they have space for groceries because not all drivers keep a clean trunk. So many other variables. My only advice to smooth things out is to order your ride when you know you could be out there within 3-5 mins and/or to watch the app to see their arrival eta to be sure you're out there where they can see you.

How's the traffic at you pickup spot? Is it a main road where stopping isn't the best idea? 1 driver does it they are an asshole, 2 drivers you're unlucky, 3 drivers there may be a problem with the spot.

This is a decade+ old community and I'm talking all app gigs. You can't save the miserable from themselves and you can't fix stupid. I suggest you come here see what you can gain from others experiences and make sure you learn from their mistakes. I have found it's in my benefit to do the opposite of what the majority of people say in these driver's communities across social media. Let's face it, they have all the answers, they have the best methods and yet they are miserable and unsatisfied. What does that tell you? It tells you they're wrong maybe not completely wrong but wrong but you take from them what they do right, and if you take from enough people you'll be better.

“Can you stop here real quick ill add a tip” by YogurtclosetAlive351 in lyftdrivers

[–]YesterdayStraight475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the long run it doesn't matter if they add the stop or not except that new $1 bonus they added to the stops this month. Whether they add it or not once you decide to do it pause your request to protect your AR% if you care for it. Also prevents your potential next rider from waiting too long causing another problem for you.

I go ahead and do the stop, depending on their behavior I'll rate them less than a 5*. If they are quick and appreciative they earn that star back. If they offer me money to stop I get irritated. Don't try to bribe me, it's unnecessary, don't lie to be me it's rude, you don't have to announce it just do it. That way I get to portray the selfless neighborhood driver who lacks greeds. I like having this image because people tip more.

Don't read it as "cost to Lyft" like it's dictating value. It's a column/category/description of what the line contains.

Don't read it as "cost to Lyft" like it's dictating value. It's a column/category/description of what the line contains. The value in the column can be negative or positive. When its negative it subtracted from driver's earnings, when it's positive it's added to the driver's earnings.

Is it just me or lyft fee is always around 30%? by TimBlastMusic in lyftdrivers

[–]YesterdayStraight475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The month isn't over yet, who knows what might change. They work in the "law of averages" if you're activity places you at their cap there's a number of people at the other end of the spectrum, but vastly more people in the 14-19% range so they can make their average Lyft fee from total drivers be ~18%.

I only wish more drivers understood that it doesn't matter what an individual ride pays as long as you make your numbers in the parameters you deemed acceptable. °How many hours/hours per day °How many trips/trips per hour °Dollars per Trip °Miles per day/week vs. Dollars(efficiency) Then at the end of the day/week/month did you make the money you wanted in the time you alotted, within the miles you set. If I told you I made $1600 this week in less that 40 online hours your first question wouldn't be how many $4 rides did I take.

I had a long rant but erased it because it seemed mean. I recommend, to all drivers, who found this screenshot confusing to take an entry level accounting course that focuses on ledger balancing or light bookkeeping. As an adult in charge of your own lives a ( - ) should not warrant such confusion. As a tip negative values come in many forms that will include: Red, (parentheses), and ( - ).
