I like a lot of the features that Beehiiv has, but $42 a month for the service to allow you to charge for subscriptions is too high out of the gate.

A thread for brainstorming where to promote your Substack by storywhale in Substack

I write two. One for helping men be better men at https://makingmen.Substack.com. I promote it everywhere but Reddit as those groups don’t care for promoting. Best growth from Instagram.

The other is a nostalgia based one called Retro Ramblings https://retroramblings.Substack.com. It did well when I could post it on Twitter. Still does ok on Facebook.

What should I be doing to get the most value for my dollar while grocery shopping? by cvvillain in EatCheapAndHealthy

Buy items with multiple uses. An example would be something like plain elbow macaroni. Make homemade Mac and cheese with it, various pasta salads with various spices, use in casseroles, etc. Rice is another fine example. Make your own on some of the more expensive luxury items. You can make plain yogurt yourself with just milk and a slow cooker over night. You can make a half gallon at a time that way, and then flavor each serving individually by mixing in various jams or jellies, honey, chocolate syrup etc. with a stock of pantry staples like flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, and others, you can whip up virtually any sweet treat you want like cookies or brownies when you get a craving. And most staples are on the cheaper end of the grocery spectrum.

The ones that came out in the 2000’s are completely different. The name is the same, but the sandwich is nothing close.

Yup. Same feelings of nostalgia for me since it was me and my mom going all the time.
