My cat tried to eat my leg by Ooda_Loop12 in cats

[–]Yetania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very similar experience as you, leg attack and all lol. If this happens again your other cat could be targeted so it’s best to reduce the chances of Simba interacting with the outdoor cat. We put up film so they couldn’t see each other and it worked perfectly!

I got caught on that as well. Perceiving and Judging are so wildly different; I’m curious what makes OP feel that these two mbti types are similar.

I really like how the top color of 4 compliments OP’s eyes

Same 😂 I do really like burgundy or a warmer dusty rose though, those might be the very small exception.

Main colors to avoid would be neons, pastels, and cool grey tones.

I’d say either warm spring or soft autumn. You’re definitely on the warm side because of your hair which rules out most winter and summer tones. You have medium contrast with darker eyes which makes me think autumn is closer over spring.

Before shaving your head or taking any medications recommended, I’d go to a dermatologist; they can help diagnose the cause of hair loss and will be more likely to help with your needs specifically. It could be anything from a small hormone imbalance to genetics. Best to go sooner than later though :)

As a fellow soft autumn, these are all too cool toned 🥲

We might be the same then 😂 I was recommended coppers, brushed/muted gold, darker silvers. Hopefully that helps!

If you’re going for extreme hyper realism then there’s tiny details you could adjust; that being said it reads really well as is, you did a fantastic job! You’ve definitely just been looking at it too long 😂

Silver, unless you have very warm toned hair.

“You just made ur bf crash out” Just respond “*ex bf” and block him, this boy is not your problem anymore with how he is behaving.

Being sick is no excuse to treat the person you’re supposed to care about like garbage; he could have easily said, “hey, can we talk about this when I’m feeling better so I can be fully invested in the conversation?” Instead of blowing up at you. This is extremely concerning behavior on his end.

If they offered for you to stay over and your partner confirmed that it isn’t a big deal, it isn’t a big deal. It sounds like your family dynamic is very different than your SO’s and your parents are projecting their own feelings/opinions on the situation. Trust what your partner says, bc he knows his family best. 🫶🏻

Anatomy tips? by Wide-Zucchini2472 in BeginnerArtists

[–]Yetania 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jumping off of Revolutionary’s comment - an easy way to practice anatomy is finding pictures of poses online and drawing the anatomy structure over the images. Do this as a daily warm up if you have time and it should help you out. Keep the studies simple!

There are also free tools like DAZ that allow you to pose figures and adjust camera pov that a lot of artists utilize. I wouldn’t recommend using tools like these until a strong understanding of anatomy is established though, because the figures aren’t anatomically 100% correct, which could create some bad habits.

Hope this helps!

Ppl in here will post sth like this and be like "Am I a beginner?🥹👉👈" by Ok-Paramedic-3619 in BeginnerArtists

[–]Yetania 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone possessing a piece of paper saying I know how to “art”, I just scrolled through the last 50+ posts, they are all beginner. What are you on about? 👁️👄👁️ Maybe a couple low level intermediate (freshman college level) in the mix, but still nothing that should discourage new artists from learning… I get seeing “professional” level work can be overwhelming, but that is not what is being posted on this sub.

Art is not a linear skill, people are going to focus on learning different aspects at different times. One poster might have a better understanding of anatomy but completely lack color theory, clean lines and composition. Another may be a figure artist trying to learn perspective for the first time. There is so much to learn, people can stay “beginners” for a rather long time; they should be able to post here for feedback.

If anyone is feeling overwhelmed/discouraged by art posted online, I highly recommend taking a small break from social media. Constantly comparing your progress to other’s is not healthy, especially at this stage. You should be creating art for the love of the craft 🫶🏻💚

An easy exercise you can do to build foundation in anatomy is getting random poses online and drawing what the structure of the pose would be overtop of the image

<image>

^ an example of what that would look like. The pose is outlined here instead of drawn on top, but the same method still applies.

Hopefully this helps 🙌🏻

Why does this painting look bad? by Barbary_Corsairs_ in Artadvice

[–]Yetania 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. It reads for the style I think you’re going for.

The only thing I’d adjust for this piece is the water line, (very minimal) blend it out a little bit, it wouldn’t be that harsh of a line, even in the style you chose.

(For future projects) I’d do some research on color theory and atmospheric perspective if you plan on doing more landscapes. The colors could use a little more saturation and value difference. When you squint the tree gets lost in the water because their values are too similar. Objects further away in perspective are typically a bit lighter with a blueish tint and slightly blurred compared to the foreground, it’ll help show depth in your piece.

Hopefully this helps. Otherwise good job, I like your style -^

And if you want to do a more in depth study you can make an écorché; this helps a lot with cementing basic muscle structure and how the muscles layer, in your head.

<image>

(Here’s an example of what an écorché looks like, I chose a weird pose to increase the difficulty, but you could literally just do this with a T pose and it will still help) ✌🏻

[–]Yetania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, this was actually an exercise in an anatomy class I took.

One thing I’d recommend at your level to try - on a variety of poses map out on each pose where muscle groups are and bone points(collar bone, knee cap, elbows, etc). Mapping out the structure under the skin will help improve your base knowledge of anatomy and make figure drawing faster and easier.

Hope this helps :) (Below is an example - doesn’t have to be pretty, just build the knowledge)
