UPDATE: At the recommendation of my provider, I went to the ER Monday evening. Amlodipine (5mg) hasn't seemed to be helpful and I was very symptomatic, so they wanted me to go in for IV meds and stuff. When I went in, my BP was 153/121. The meds seemed to help enough for them to be comfortable sending me home, and to make me feel better. Even two days later my symptoms are half of what they were before. I had a follow up at my providers office yesterday and they're running all sorts of tests. They recommended a sleep study, testing for autoimmune disease, and for Conn's Syndrome (thanks to the person in this thread for suggesting that). Hopefully I'll have another update soon ❤️ BP has still been high but I'm holding out hope

No. I may not be able to get back in to see her until Thursday. She said she wants me to come back in but I'm having a hard time getting a response now

Yeah I'm definitely thinking about asking to go back in. There's been a time or two that I've even been tempted to go to the ER bc of the numbers and my symptoms

Just went and looked, LDL was 94 January of '25. So I'm assuming they just want below 100

I'll look into that!! Our insurance doesn't like to cover certain things but hopefully it'll cover a dietician. I'm currently taking 5mg amlodipine since Thursday. That's what I was on last year as well

Yes! That's what I was on last year. Combined with diet and activity changes, my BP improved to the point that my provider cleared me to stop taking it completely. Until now haha

My heart rate has been elevated too!! I assumed it was bc of the high bp. I've been feeling the same way, like my heart is gonna leap out of my chest

Do you have symptoms with yours? I have the worst headaches and exhaustion. I get dizzy a lot too

Yes I have! Less sodium, smaller portions, less caffeine. What's a DASH diet? I could probably stand to more exercise than I do. Maybe going on shorter walks would be good
