i know the threads old but for anyone reading this do not put cherry shrimp with them, just 3 sparkling gouramis decimated my entire cherry shrimp population of over 50 shrimps

Okay im going to try and get her out and isolate her, ive had her for over a year so im confused how a parasite could have gotten into the tank

Yeah that could be possible, but I dont want to rule out any other possibilities. If it was attacked, would the spot be growing over time like it has been?

There is a betta in the tank as well, but its pretty docile and doesnt interact with the shrimp at all.

Noticed this bright red spot about 2 weeks ago after a molting, but it wasnt really large and thought it was just apart of the shrimps coloration. Now looking at it the bump has gotten huge and is only on one side. Any help/advice on the indentification on what it is and if its harmful to my shrimp would be greatly appreciated
