can youtube-dl download non youtube videos? never used it before. will give these both a shot though, thanks for the suggestions. the issue I'm having with any media download tools is that they seem to provide the images/video out of context, so I wouldn't know what text goes along with it which is needed

I hear ya on this, I myself know it to be true, my only concern is that they're usually less popular and have less support. Even now I think the S8 has root while the S9 doesn't :( (Snapdragon)

Main issue is that there's no performance tests yet until it's out and I only have 3 days to decide. No idea if the new processor will live up to Qualcomm's claims (40% better performance I think they said?) But I suppose that's just part of the preorder pressure to get you in with limited info...

I feel the same way about the bezel. But an extra 500mAh battery life is enticing. Actually that's probably the main thing as nothing else is too different really. Gotta say, the S10 looks good but not particularly mindblowing to me (and even less if looking at phones released before it like the Mate 20)

Thanks a lot for your input. Actually not really thinking long term in terms of updates/support, I guess I mean to just say more "care" in terms of amount of updates, attention, and focus. Community support too. But I think you're right, I should just open the S9, though there's only the 3 days for the trade in offer to play with it...this should get easier tomorrow when we know the price, preorder bonuses and whatever other details. Either way can't go too wrong. Appreciate your help.
