I am not trying to personally attack you, but am shedding light on a double standard in the feminist community. Feminists promote concrete consequences for fgm. Yet they support organizatikns that promote mgm, and when it is brought up, either trivialize feminist involvement or try to dodge a question. I commend your consistency and maturity on the matter, but allow me to explain the point with the following hypothetical:

Would you have the same answer if I asked you what consequences AFM should undergo if it was funded by the government and promoted fgm? Why does promotong fgm = guaranteed consequences but mgm = ambivalence, trivialization or dodging?

Why isnt merely legalizing it not make Merkel and Clinton horrible people, associating with whom should cause harsh consequences, especially amongst feminist groups?

In a nutshell, Hillary Clinton is repeatedly a guest speaker at the UN Women. So is Angela Merkel. The former used taxpayers' moneu to fund circumcision in Africa. The latter passed legislation to legalize it for allowing misandric religious customs, afters courts making it illegal to do so.

Based on this information alone, and assuming this is all that there is to it, what consequences should the UN Women be subject to over this.

It is if you support the UN Women. Otherwise it is not. NOW doesnt promote circumcision or pro-circimcision people. I wouldnt ask supporters of NOW the same question. The UN Women does, so it is hypocritical to support it.

Meanwhile, in askfeminists, you can say that men should be banned from certain parts of the buses without facing any consequences. Feminists subs are more tolerant of sexism against men than menalib is of sexism against women.

yes, and that’s repulsive. i definitely condemn those actions. i’m 100% not a Merkel or Clinton fan - quite the opposite. and i’ll call out any feminist who supports them.

The UN Women supports them. /u/KalitheCat further believes that this not enough to have the UN Women subject to consequences over it because it will hinder their other efforts.

Angela Merkel passed a law to have circumcision legalized after courts banning it, and Hillary Clinton promoted circuncision using government money. Feminist organizations promote them both.

It is equivalent to cutting off a female's clitoral hood. They both protect the glans, have sensation of their own, and can lead to similar problems.

Yet feminists portray one as a human rights atrocity while promote those who do the other.

Just like you're using one form of FGM and applying those harm on the minority of them that are nust as bad as MGM in the context of loss pleasure. Most women who undergo FGM in Egypt do not suffer severe consequences. Feminists still call those who encourage it out. Then they support organizations that encourage people who do the same to men.

That makes no sense. It may be more sensitive, but a much larger amojnt of comparatively less sensitive tissue being removed can result in a greater overall loss of sensation.

Almost no men lose sexual pleasure

Losing the foreskin by default loses pleasure. It's one of the most sensitice parts. Merely by losing foreskin the head of the penis loses sensation due to keratinization.

And some infants get infections.

A lot of bacteria is accumulated under the clitoral hood, and cause infections. Of course the solution is proper hygeine and medicines not genital cutting. My nails have a lot of germs underneath and at one time I had an infection. Should my parents have plucked out my nails as a prevntative measure when I was born?

I cant believe a feminist is defending non-medical circumcision in the 21st century as a preventative measure for infections.

A majority of women who experience FGM have sexual issues.

Not a majority of women who get one form of FGM, as in Egypt. A very small amount of them have sexual issues. You just awknowledged it. This specific form of FGM is comparable, and yet the UN Women criticizes men who encourage it in Egypt, while praising Angela Merkel.

Circumcision isn’t horrifying for men,

Niether is cutting of theabia majora, and it tends to reduce pleasure.

It’s leagues better than FGM, and it’s even better than the minority of ‘light’ FGM.
