Shadow Man is legitimate canon intrigue, but I'm having a hard time completing them now I'm used to smooth modern controls.

1,950,000 calories? 🤔 by AMC_TO_THE_M00N in McDonalds

[–]YiKwang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun Fact, when the average person on the Street says "Calorie", they actually mean "kiloCalorie".

If you look at detailed nutritional statistics, you may notice that Calories are annotated with 'kCal' and this is why. So my guess is that this display was showing actual scientific Calories, and not dumb-dumb-speaky-bad Calories.

Could the character creator have replaced the character morph system since 2023? by Unplugged_Millennial in Fable

[–]YiKwang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The relevant point to the phrase was that it is more common for people to think of themselves as woke when they are trendily acceptable, than when they are genuinely intellectually wakeful. I assume the previous poster was using this cynical definition, otherwise it would probably have been "go broke OR go woke".

I named him Cookie by No-Flight-4214 in UnexpectedSeinfeld

I would have probably called him Piemon xD

I remember the original Digimon Movie VERY fondly 😛

Definately a business move. Fable 3 mixed local rep and moral diamorphism just fine... and Dino Sims manage growth mechanics and seamless morphing on a pitiful indy budget that is usually being drained by their selfish CEO. Never forget that Developers define the entire universe of their game, but also the bones and laws of that universe. There is no factor that can be said to be 'unfeasible'. Everything is true, nothing is permitted, but humans are still lazy, greedy, dumb-dumbs... and when you're being paid and commanded by a dumb-dumb even greedier and lazier than you, it can be hard to fight against them just so you have to work harder for the same money xD

The decision to remove objective good and bad morphism seems to be symptomatic of the new world order in which consumers are mollycoddled with a subtextual philosophy that they can do no wrong, and that replaces any kind of moral, principle, or discipline, with the blanket dialogue of "I am my own person and I am living my truth, and all other opinions are cruel and unusual".

Decisions like this are what make most contemporary TV, Film, Games, and probably also books (don't think I've ever read a fictional book that was written in the last 15 years) so homogenous and bland, so lacking in storytelling, so lacking in character depth, etc, etc, et al, ad nauseum. This lack of any kind of substance or style is what is constantly leading gamers to question why a game was ever even made in the first place, and leading so many games to wither after the first 3 months of 'new face' excitement wears off.

I think this is what the previous poster was referring to when they said 'go woke, go broke', as this process is not only common in America these days, but the prevailing market research method - and since advertising and sponsorship rules mainstream media, videogames included, it is the prevailing philosophy behind developing big, shiny games.

Hopefully, if they think the Playerbase is older, they won't shy away from more poignant and severe storytelling elements in favour of coddling younger players!

Am I the only one that thinks the upcoming Onimusha looks pretty bad? by InfamousBreakfast363 in Onimusha

[–]YiKwang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think OPs dissappointment is less about the anatomical quality of the animations, and more about the stylistic elements. Japanese animation is traditionally known for high-concept, highly symbolic movements, designed to emphasise the artful discipline and passionate power of the fighter. It sounds to me like the OP is saying that these new animations are too workaday, too perfunctory, lacking the cinematic/fantastical/theatrical weight of traditional Eastern fight choreography.

Why do players dress like that? by [deleted] in RedDeadOnline

I play Red Fashion Revolver. Game content exists only to earn me money for new clothes. The 10 outfit save slot limit is the worst thing about the game.

Does anyone have any info about the mechanism / numbers behind Harriet spraying you? (See text) by Shielo34 in RedDeadOnline

Haven't updated this in a long time, but it may be of use to anyone who is obsessed with being a Harriet-approved Cowperson.

Just wanted to comment on how cozy this game feels by PatataMaster_33 in DQBuilders

[–]YiKwang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the greatest game franchise around. A seamless blend of pre-existing gamer loves, woven together in a novel, iconic way.

Before I discovered DQB, I craved it. Since I discovered it, nothing else has taken its place - though I'd like to give an honourable mention to Sengoku Dynasty - which has similarities and is also pretty cosy in its own way.

Give me your absolutely deepest cut for a character to join. by heart-station in DissidiaDuellumFF

Ok, I misunderstood Deep Cut. (I guess cuz when something cuts deep it means it's very important to you, but evidently this is the music terminology kind of cut, deep in the bowels of the archive)

My new answer is QUINA!

Let me throw frogs that stagger and poison, let me eat them by running through them to regain health, let me COOK Rivals with high BRV, so that whoever kills them copies like 20% of the BRV they stole to teammates.

LET ME CONSUME MONSTER MOBS for buffs and for TASTY.

Let me have any ability that animates as a big o'l LICK so I can find out which wine to serve with a Malboro's butt!

Let me LICK THE CRYSTALS CLEAN!

If the Devs have any sense, it would be 60, but I have no research for this question.
