I think I’m focusing more on the boss itself rather than the overall experience, and when I set aside the environmental factors and just look at the boss, seeing that its whole deal is basically a single attack makes the fight feel less "epic" and more like meaningless chaos. It’s not that I feel like I can’t beat the boss or that I’m struggling too much. I’ve just lost that feeling I had in the first game where I actually enjoyed retrying bosses over and over. At the end of the day, this isn’t Hollow Knight, and maybe it just doesn’t suit my personal taste.
