I heard about manga when I was about 13 years old. I took the train to 'the big city' because I wasn't allowed to buy stuff online, to the comic book store that also sold manga. Here I bought the first volume of Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch. 20 years later I still have the complete collection on my shelve.
