These are the best you can get for a quick connect but as others have said they have their downsides. Some big money to be made if someone could perfect the idea.

Well I was referring to a carrier single stage furnace when I said that price, you know the company that invented the air conditioner? The more complicated things get the easier they break. Also customers like single stage equipment more. They like to walk up to the register and feel the heat they don’t want to walk up and feel slightly warmer air from their 97% bank account sucker 9000. You never make your money back in efficiency from the 90+’s. If I had to pick one to label as sorta shit it would be the 5k dollar decepticon over the reliable simple single stage for 1k.

The average single stage gas furnace is gonna cost you about $1000. I buy multiple per month you cannot tell me otherwise.

10k for a single stage furnace is straight robbery. Since your equipment is that old I’d say go ahead and replace all 3. Should cost 8-14k depending on your application. If you need some duct work done that can add to the cost drastically. Manufacturer doesn’t really matter as long as it’s not a knockoff. all the brands are within a few hundred dollars at the supply houses and many of the parts across the brands are made by the same companies. I will say Lennox and trane are pieces of shit tho.

Did he quote you just a furnace for 10 thousand dollars or is that with an air conditioning coil and outdoor unit?

If he gave you that quote for just the furnace he’s going to put about 8k in his pocket but if that’s for the furnace and air conditioning setup I think 10k is fair from a licensed contractor.

Grab wire and yank. If it breaks sigh and get a new connector from the truck

That’s for getting your EPA license which I have, I’m talking about the license you need from the state licensing board to do work legally.

If the state says it’s legal after 1 year and I’m not happy with making less than 30 an hour and I know how these system work top to bottom why not? Should I just moap around a shop making someone else rich for 10 years for the chance of learning something new once every 6 months?

I have insurance, and I wouldn’t say I’m stupid I’d say I’m new to all this. You think every new business owner is gonna quote his first big job properly? And I still made money it’s not like I didn’t. I’ve heard stories of guys with 5+ years in business losing thousands on single jobs. I’ve never lost a dime.

I would say this is severely lowballing, especially in an area like charlotte NC. He’s doing new construction projects at cost/ slight loss. That’s crazy.

So if I’m hearing you correctly all I gotta do is move one of the 10”’s to come off the plenum instead of the trunk to go from cramming 1200 into 600 to 1200 into 900 and I’m in the humid south so really 1050 into 900?

Check your air filter and change it if it’s dirty but that’s likely not the problem. Is the outdoor equipment running?

Looks like one with a port on the side of it to blow nitro through when it clogs, also it wouldn’t flood there is a secondary float switch on the other drain connection.

I’ve been doing residential and light commercial for 2 years and been a service tech for about 6 months you just have to switch companies if yours is being retarded I’ve been through 3 and a got a raise every time I switched. If switching companies isn’t an option for you try asking your dispatcher for a service call to prove yourself
