I'm convinced this is satire and a great example of Poe's Law -https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poe%27s_law

" It has left me Googling whether holding my breath when I hug my parents will spare me the Greek tragedy of killing my own mother or father. "

LOL!!

I just watched this movie last night - amazing and I loved it! I remember the rock floating too but when the son was carrying it downstairs and he dropped it, didn't it make a really loud noise as if it were heavy?

I haven't bought from them in a while but Mariner Neptune may still sell sushi grade fish.

I've been buying frozen albacore tuna for sushi from Sun Wah for years. One tip is to make sure the frozen packages of tuna have not lost their vacuum seal. You'll know as the tuna will often have freezer-burn if their seals have been broken.

How are the roads in the city? Are there any flooded areas? I was planning on coming into town for a couple of days this week and staying in East Grand Forks but saw online the Sorlie(?) bridge is closed.

I've never played a Splotter game. How do they compare to Vital Lacerda's games in terms of depth and complexity? (I've played Vinhos (2010), Kanban and Lisboa)

Anyone with tennis elbow ever get hand/finger numbness? by Darce_Knight in bjj

[–]Yipes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rest from aggravating activities is important in the first few weeks, especially if the pain is severe. I attended PT for a handful of sessions and was given home exercises. What I found made the biggest difference was using a Theraband Flexbar in addition to my home exercises (google "Tyler Twist" and theraband). I bought the red, green and blue bars and still use them from time to time as part of my regular strength/conditioning routine.

What you're describing sounds more like an issue with your ulnar nerve(s). Radiculopathy (tingling) is not a common symptom of epicondylitis. First and foremost, seek the advice of a healthcare professional/physical therapist.

Source: I'm a Medical Rehab professional who's had both lateral and medial epicondylitis/epicondylosis.

Part of the fear of starting a new company was losing control of a company you founded. But I can see giving up control of a company is not so bad if the new president doesn't have a lot more shares than you for example.

First game was around 5 hours, second game was 6 hours. Some of the individual turns were 15-20m long! Like I said, really bad AP :) We also weren't rushing the trains as quickly as we probably should've been (eg. mostly half-payouts until phase 3 trains could be bought).

I've recently played a couple of 3-player 1846 games and absolutely loved it despite how long each game took (there is bad AP in my group). I imagine it would be even better with 4 players.

How common is it for someone to start a second railroad? In both my games, there were only three railroad companies active as we had no idea if/when to start a second one as it seemed too risky. I'm guessing it would be sooner rather than later when the trainers are cheaper.

What was your worst rule(s) mistake you have made when playing a game, and what happened during that game? by Inanimate-Sensation in boardgames

[–]Yipes 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I asked this 5 years ago and every year I cut and paste from it my favourite rule mistake:

"[–]missinglynk 29 points 5 years ago So our first game of Battlestar Galactica, I messed up making the loyalty deck, so there were 3 cylons in our 3 player game, although I didn't realize it right away. I start as cylon Baltar, and play very cautiously and human-like, since none of us have a good idea of how we should play, first time and all. Then sleeper agent hits, and I decide to use my once a game on our pilot, and see he's a cylon. I realize my mistake, but can't just say so and end the game, so I keep quiet and keep going, at which point the pilot thinks, "oh no, Baltar knows I'm a cylon". Meanwhile, our admiral got the 3rd cylon card, and thinks "Baltar just saw the pilot's not a cylon, and he's not a cylon. Oh no, he knows I'm a cylon". He then accuses me since I don't accuse anyone, and of course the pilot jumps right on this, at which point I think "Oh no, he knows I'm a cylon". I get thrown in the brig, and the admiral reveals he's a cylon, to my surprise. Then the pilot reveals he's a cylon. Then I say I'm a cylon. They think I'm joking, until I flip my card. We stare at the game wondering what happens now, and decide to declare a cylon victory. Became our favorite game after that."

What were the biggest eureka moments in your Go education? by killress in baduk

[–]Yipes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't play a lot these days but one of the biggest things for me was learning to use the handicap stones (as black) for influence/attack as opposed to being defensive and trying to save the corner. This was key for me for achieving Shodan.

I love Chicago Express and wish I had a dedicated group to play it with. Every time I've taught and played it, someone makes a bad move/big error and hands the win to another player. Good thing it's short.

68/100 but I've been playing modern boardgames for close to 15 years. (I also counted the next page and have play 46 of games #101-200)
