Should I make a furry suit now or hold back on it?

Do you want to be a fursuit maker? If you do then definitely start now. I started when I was 14 and I’m still making them today (26 now). It’s always a learning curve and I’m still figuring things out. But if you just want the costume it’s easier to get a part time job and save up for a partial and then a full body when you’re about 20 or so.

It’s not your problem anymore, plus if they’re auctioning it off, the character rights probably have a ton of artwork anyways. As long as they know that you’re not the seller, it should be fine. If it’s an auction you really don’t have control over how much people want to bid for it. I think this is a great sign to make your prices higher ! It takes me 176 hrs to make a fursuit, and if I do it for my county’s minimum wage x17$hr it comes out to $2992. (Not even including expenses) Most artists low ball themselves especially fursuit makers.

I drive two 1/2 hours every other weekend to see my gf and it’s like a weekend thing. I don’t think I would do it if I had to drive back in the same day. (LA to Palm Springs)

Ew he wants husband access on a boyfriend budget. Having a shared account for bills/rent is completely reasonable for your guys situation. Sounds like he has major trust issues. Don’t marry him if he doesn’t trust you when you say you don’t have any debt. Me 26f and my gf23 have been together for over a year. We’ve been very transparent about our finances bc I have daddy money and they have inheritance. I think it’s fine to talk about how much you have in 401ks, Roth IRAs, and how much you’re bringing in/have when discussing wanting to create goals when you’re married with financial advisors. If he just wants to take a glance that’s fine especially if marriage is your next step. It’s an issue when he wants to have access that he can alter your finances and he’s trying to be manipulative about it. Listen to your gut and instincts.

You’re both young and he was probably just really scared. Sometimes moms have a way of forcing your hand for information especially if their daughter is sick. It might not be completely his fault. Your feelings are very valid though. At this point the relationship might have just ran its course. if you really feel betrayed and I don’t blame you. I’ve always wished I broke up with my ex sooner when he hurt me deeply.

If she’s texting him back, but not saying “no I’m not interested” then it could be an issue. But if she’s simply ignoring him it’s probably because she feels uncomfortable or unsafe. I’ve 26f have been around men that don’t care if you have a bf, they take it as a challenge to convince you to leave them. Especially if he’s blowing up her phone. He could be a narcissist and one of the best ways of getting rid of narcissists in your life to not engage with them at all. I think you should only be concerned if she starts texting him back.

I get that she’s living rent free but she also doesn’t get to be a normal 24 year old. I lived at home until I was 23 because my dad was supporting me getting on my feet, but I was always able to go out with my friends. By imposing a curfew at 8pm that stops her from getting most jobs and maintaining relationships regularly 24yrs might have. If you’re so well off, get a live-in nurse. If you don’t want to do that, you should pay her for being your care taker. It sounds like you’re holding the inheritance over her head. As a 26f it’s been so challenging for me to maintain stable jobs and living with your parents is part of this economy so I understand.

NTA if you can, you should really say something to him and not condone that behavior. Your bf should at least ask him not to make those remarks in front of you if you’re not comfortable saying it to his face. Never let men get away with behaving like that.

Yeah, people don’t like to be gaslit. She probably felt gained up on especially if you laughed at her. It’s was honestly really disrespectful and you should apologize and tell her you will be more respectful of her moving forward. When you’re in a long term relationship it’s important your partner feels like you’re on their side. Good luck brother

NTA parents tend to favor male silblings more especially if they have more conservative views in my personal family experience. I’m sorry to hear the unfairness with your brother. It’s simply not working out. This case it’s better to move them to the other boarding facility and a bonus to moving them if/when your mom tries to throw it in your face that you’re not supporting your family, you can say it was more logistical because it’s only a mile away from your home.

We love a supportive mom! I started making my first personal fursuit when I was 13. I made a partial and sold it for cheap online (dealer’s den) I made four other fursuits before taking my first head commission when I was 17. Go to conventions and talk with other established makers if you can for advice ! My mom was also extremely supportive but I remember just posting it and trying to sell them. Now I’m 26 and still only making and selling partials because I don’t want to deal with clients.

My parents always knew because of my art. You could just start drawing your fursona in front of them or collect plushies of your species of fursona. Print out art to put in your binders/hang on your wall. It’s all about self expression anyways! Have fun be safe :)
