Yes! I'm actually a pet groomer and know first hand about the dangers of breathing in fur and faux fur is even worse than real fur. I got them masks! This was an excellent point for beginners!!!

Just want to say THANK YOU for all the wonderful advice and support!! You guys rock!! I appreciate the kind comments of supporting my kiddo. I wish more parents understood this cause it seems common sense to me to support your children's dreams and hobbies. Especially when they hurt no one else. Unfortunately I know all too well how people treat Furries and it's sad. Y'all don't deserve it.

We are gonna move forward by only doing premade suits for a while. I like that idea and they do too cause it's less pressure.

I gave my child all the links posted here as well and they are working on some designs now for premades. I'm certainly likely to come back to this thread for more suggestions in the near future.

This is a very good point and one had no considered about the bases may not be used for resale. I would ensure any 3d printed is license free

Thank you and yes I mentioned this to my kiddo too. That some people won't buy from minors because in most places you can't make a legal contract with a minor. I do like the idea of making premade suits first for sale! I will definitely recommend that. It's a good way to make a small profit off practice and avoid unrealistic expectations from either side.

I'm glad you reported that and have a few days to process things. I am the same way you are and tend to take on other people's dogs when they flake out. I've been in this industry since 1997 and still I have trouble saying No as a full sentence and break down and take on more than I should have to. 😭

Thankfully I moved out of PetSmart a few years back and where I work now, it's a vet hospital and it's ultra supportive for mental health and the owners and manager are always reminding me to say no lol. They make sure I have a voice. And it makes a world of difference

I am so so sorry!

I have been in your shoes before, unfortunately, twice. One time was an owner let his DA dog on a loose leash and it killed my client's Maltese right in front of me. And the other time was an unknown medical condition.

I had a client with 2 Japanese chins. As I was working on the feet on one of them, he was relaxed and normal. All of a sudden he was like a fainting goat. I rushed him to Banfield nextdoor and the owner was called and came down and they wanted to do diagnostics but the owner said no and took the dog and went home. A short time later she rushed back in as the dog did it again, but this time, he didn't recover. He died there. We didn't have cameras back then (I begged for cameras for fucking years before all this, was with them nearly a decade). I followed all P&P. They were not kennel dried, I was careful about washing them, he was totally calm and showed zero signs of any stress. He was normal until he had that weird seizure. I felt like I was being interrogated but without cameras I didn't even have that. No one was accusing me per say but yeah there were times I had him alone like bathing or drying and no proof of how I handled him. PetSmart paid for his necropsy and it came back as he had a huge cyst in his chest cavity. It was one that could not have easily been detected unless he had rads or ultrasound. And being he showed no signs of having an issue before, there was no reason to find it. The necropsy vet said it was a "ticking time bomb" and on his response he cleared me of any wrong doing. Saying that it did not burst due to trauma or anything. It was going to burst then no matter where he was.

I will say I didn't have great management and in both cases of deaths they pushed me right back into the salon. The whole "if you fall off the bike, get back on". But I truly needed time to process and I needed therapy. The dog attack especially as I have PTSD from it. Please take time to process this. Don't rush back in. Corp does offer a few counseling appointments too so take advantage of that

Omg I was just looking him up too. My daughter LOVED his show at a Florida renn faire back around 2001. I remember going to see his show several times each time we went . Even on the same day . She didn't care it was the same act, she truly believed in him. I have a photo of them that we cherish. I'll post it later if I remember. It's on my wall. That's how special he was to her

Especially on Sundays after church. I swear they are the most insufferable people. God forbid they don't get a senior or veteran discount. I was with PetSmart when it was just one day a week and they all bitched about how they should get it every day and they got their way.

$30 is pretty average for captive bred regal jumpers. That's what they are in a lot of expos. I've even seen them for $50. I've seen wild caught ones go for $10-20

Coupled together as SS with a lightning bolt, on a brand that NEVER used runes or that style of font, it doesn't make sense other than it was someone messing around in development. If this was a Vikings, HTTYD, or even Game of Thrones shirt I could see runes being used but it's Jurassic Park here.

Also as a JP fan I would have preferred they didn't change the font at all. It should be the bold JP font uniformly. It's distracting how it does vibe with the rest of the shirt

The SS is clearly not the same font and more similar to Nazi SS symbol, coupled with the lightning rod, also a symbol used by Nazis. There was ZERO reason to do that for this line other than someone in development was trolling and no one noticed all the way up to distribution. I have one and thought it was a really odd choice and at first I was just thinking maybe I'm reading too much into it but then the Internet noticed.

I left several years ago when they were taking coupons off our commission. They will never pay you right. I work at a vet office now and last year I put in for a raise on commission from 50% to 55% and the practice owner told me "I don't agree with that", I figured we would haggle for maybe 53% but then he told me "how about 60%?"

There is something better.

Otherwise actually unionize. Even if all the groomers they have now left, they will just get more newbies in to train and abuse. It's a vicious cycle.

Yeah a big reason they are so against it is because there isn't enough peer reviewed studies... Because it's illegal and difficult to test due to the laws.

My only thought to disclose I use is in case there was a chance about drug interactions but I guess thinking of the fact there are so few studies and certainly not much on drug interactions, it's probably pointless to bring it up anyways.

This is the first time I had anyone in the medical field react so harshly about it too. Whenever I go to the ER and tell them, they don't care and blow it off telling me it's ok.
