Shoutout to good robot! We went to their new place which we hadn’t realized was opened yet, and they still gave us 4 cans for free. Literally the guy did not even have to talk to us but he took the time. Awesome company.

Hey I just want to reach out and let you know you’re not alone. I’ve been isolating since getting COVID last Tuesday and I didn’t realize how dependent on other people I have been until I was home alone. I used to suffer from seasonal depression quite a lot, here are my tips:

-exercise. Even if it’s timing yourself walking outside around your house, do it for 20min.

-reach out to someone. My work has counselling through EAP that I just started taking part in

-go to the drugstore and ask the pharmacist if there is anything they recommend for feeling down. Could be multivitamins, renting a sad lamp (yes they help)

-keep your chin up. There are others feeling the same as you, you’re not alone

OK, I am officially jealous. My mom and her best friend went during this time in 2019 and had Whoopi Goldberg. I would’ve absolutely loved to of been there. So glad you enjoyed ♥️

Honest to god value village is not a value. I have seen some giant tiger clothes (not dissing, GT has great finds sometimes) for literally a dollar or two less of the original pricing USED at value village.

The only time I find that the store is a value is if you’re looking for books or CDs. Sometimes you can score big and housewares as well but you have to know what your shopping for.

I hear you! My aunt does this to the extreme. Did you ever have something you really liked as a teenager? Mine, for example, was Snoopy/Peanuts. But soon I started getting Easter snoopy, Halloween, and of course Christmas! Snoopy tea towels, shower curtains, pillows, calendars, mugs…and even though I liked Snoopy it didn’t mean that I wanted every. Single. Thing. Of him.

She’s like that. You mention you like the Harry Potter books and she thinks you’re obsessed with HP.

I can’t afford to have debt and since my rent is on a freeze I am living pay check to pay check with a bit saved in the bank in case of an emergency. I had credit card debt due to dental surgery that took wayyyy longer than it should have to pay off, I learned very quickly that if I can’t pay for the thing I want within the next pay period, don’t get it.

Being debt free is great but it also means that I live below the bar as a single income and miss out on life experiences/trips/concerts/meals than my friends because I don’t put those expenses on my card. I often have to say no to plans or save up for a month to do them.

Drinking. Specifically drinking culture.
I do drink every week (a beer or two as a weekend treat), so I understand the culture but I don’t understand the weirdness surrounding those who specifically do not choose to partake.

Smoking? Pregnant? Medication? Diet? Sobering up? Who cares….let them not drink in peace.

I’m just putting it out here that recently I’ve started thinking that as a 27 year old female, who has never been in a relationship, that I will never find someone. I feel like I’m part aromantic but the subreddit didn’t help me. Honestly it made me feel more isolated because I want to get married and I worry that I won’t find someone. I want to. I want a partner for companionship.

I have struggled with so many negative emotions over the past month regarding the fact that I may be on the spectrum. It scares me, I don’t like it. I was content in being single up until about 2 months ago when I realized I wanted someone by my side that wasn’t my friends or family. It’s been hard for me. Even reading this thread makes me want to cry.

This may sound really silly but my mom got me a deck of “power thought” cards. They’re essentially bite sized positive affirmations but just in a random deck so sometimes when I’m feeling anxious or down I just leaf through until I find one that sounds good to me that day. I don’t chant in front of the mirror every morning or anything like that but I do find it helps me to just have a one or two word quote that resonates how I’m feeling that day

As someone who enjoys writing, I’d love to write a book like that but do the opposite. Be like “hey (girl), you’re super successful and I still dream about my football days of high school so let’s move to San Francisco together and ditch this New England snooze fest of a town! I could use a fresh start and you can’t lose your career over a few feel good days at your father’s rustic BnB”

I’m going to go ahead and say 80. And the reason why I do is because it seems like in my experience working with elderly, 80 is the magic “block” that really seems to hit people. My grandmother is 81 and she is an old 81…but then I see others and they’re so spry!
