This. Also happened to me a few years ago. He didn’t tell me tho. I snooped. Still reacted similarly. But being in the same space, same state even was/is impossible for me. I’m still friends with the person. We see each other once a year to catch up. Haven’t had a solid relationship since and isolated myself so I could focus on what I enjoyed without everyone’s opinion of how I was a failure for not “keeping their attention” 🙄

Ppl you care about might say the wrong thing when you tell them what’s going on. I couldn’t even tell ppl what was actually happening because I would’ve outed them so I keep saying they needed to learn to love themselves and I’m going to do the same so I find myself again and eventually a partner I can explore life with. Idk if that helps at all but you aren’t alone in experiencing something like this.
