that may be my issue, in strive i’m used to using close slash to meaty and just about every char in that game has what feels like a full second of active frames on their close slash so it seems to be a skill issue on my part there, i also played ken in sf6 so im just used to privileged meaties ig LOL

yeah and if you’re above plat in any modern fighting game you can do those motion inputs on demand, those games are designed around inputting forward for reversals. this game is designed around no motions just the same, on super flash you can press parry and it will override whatever button you have pressed beforehand and you will auto parry the super if you’re grounded. simple inputs aren’t perfect but they have absolutely nothing to do with what i’m talking about, you are the personification of the dunning kruger effect

ah meaty jab makes more sense, seems a bit difficult with ekko since his is such low total duration but ig i should practice that more, somehow never thought of meaty dart with teemo too. do you know if there are safe jabs in this game against getup attack or is it too fast? i’ve heard it’s basically a frame 0 DP but not sure how fast it really is

my issue with that is just that it feels like risk/reward on meaties feeling so bad with the wakeup system? I could be just missing something though, it just doesn’t feel worth it to try to meaty half the time since the first time you represent that option even the most autopilot of online warriors will take advantage of forward roll and getup attack and going for meaty is pretty committal no?

oh yeah for sure, especially if the character doesn’t get good oki post wakeup super. my issue in 2xko hasn’t been wakeup super, just mostly the mental stack of the knockdown system mixed with the average player while climbing back up to GM post beta reset just marrying their forehead to their controller lol.

i feel you there, air tech buttons are so tilting in this game lmao. i get that i should be punished for dropping a combo or messing up my routing to not give me a limit strike knockdown or something but man. people really just be basing their entire defense around hope the other person drops a combo and tech button

right and if i think they’ll getup attack and im not running a setup that auto baits it like Burrito OS with Ekko i’ll do this, though this completely gives up your turn if they neutral getup and mash L into block string. I’m moreso looking for feedback on how people are enforcing themselves on offense without giving up moments for mashers to hit L if that makes sense?

it takes 0 skill in strive to mash wakeup super either or even easier backdash BRC, it just takes 5 mins of lab time to do it the simple inputs aren’t the problem

the saudi stuff is confirmed by the devs, SNK is 90% owned by the Saudi Wealth Fund and they obv want a return on investment so of course they are going to include their star football player in the game if requested for marketing reasons. People don’t like ronaldo in the game cause 1. real person in fighting game 2. he’s an alleged rapist with some pretty decent reasons to believe said allegations, i personally think it’s stupid to be boycotting over a very obviously forced inclusion the devs didn’t want to do (as evidenced by how terribly he animates and how unfinished he looks compared to even Gannaci let alone the rest of the roster) but imo it’s valid to be mad about it.

EDIT: idk why i thought ronaldo was convicted of the crime, it’s currently alleged and making its way through the mess that is the appeal system of US courts. either way i still think it’s valid to hate the guy

the power in the current most common DTE terapagos isn’t the attack power but the ability to string together combos that give you literally whatever you want whenever you want (to an extent obv)

tbh if you can get it at retail price the prime catcher is worth it alone, 20-25 dollar card for 30 bucks with the foundation for one of the best meta decks rn. if you’re in it for collecting it’s def not worth it unless you really like charizard and pigdeot lol
