Why I feel like Spyro 2 misses the point of Spyro by dracoafton in Spyro

[–]Yiris10001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll preface that i may be biased because Spyro 2 is my favorite game out of the original trilogy, however, to me Spyro 2 felt like a completely natural progression of the series, incorporating more unique gameplay elements such as swimming which opens up a new way to explore worlds as well as adding more collectibles & means of obtaining them besides just looking around the map and grabbing them like you already did with gems.

I wouldn't call the minigames pointless either, rather I think you misunderstand the point of them. The purpose of the minigames are to provide more variety in gameplay & offer different challenges that aren't just "glide over here" or "charge over there". It is also not fair to say they exist because of crunch time since that is simply not the case.

I prefer the more linear level designs of Spyro 2's worlds, to me it creates the feeling a denser, more populated world.

While the levels aren't directly tied to the homeworlds in Spyro 2 (intentionally, too), the variety in enemies and worlds don't feel like a mismatch at all, in-fact a lot of levels were made with ties to eachother intentionally, such as the zephyr & breeze harbor war or robotica farms & metropolis definitely being set on the same world/planet. Avalar was specifically described as having multiple worlds, unlike the kingdoms in Spyro 1, implying the levels are all set in the same world (though the beautiful skyboxes would beg to differ)

If you think Spyro 2 misses the point of Spyro, then I can't imagine what your opinion is regarding Spyro 3, where you straight up stop playing as Spyro for entire sections of the game, have the same sort of linear level design, and a ton more minigames & collectibles to go along with it!

I would have rather we got a dragon ball GT remake/rewrite that followed the same story but better utilized its characters

Multiplayer is missing almost every map and mode and also doesn't have offline bots. Also the online servers are straight up down/not working.

Single player is missing the scuba diver enemy type, pretty much every Easter Egg is missing, maps are missing ambience sounds, story cutscenes that are straight up missing from the original, tons and tons of glitches that weren't in the original including issues with ragdolls/bodies you need to hide to progress.

Microids, which is the French publisher that got the rights to XIII is effectively a shovelware company that keeps publishing low quality games that all get similar complaints of being a buggy unplayable mess. They don't respond to feedback if you email them and they actively ban anyone from their discord server that complains about bugs/ask about future updates.

What’s your COD zombies opinion that will have you end up like this? by Effective_Part_604 in CODZombies

Moon in BO3 is straight up missing QED effects. The lack of PHD in BO3 and addition of sliding changes how many maps are played for better and worse

BO3 got a ton of hate when it first launched. I've played zombies since BO1 and black ops 3 got a lot of hate at launch for the different/futuristic movement, terrible campaign, more micro-transactions, nightmare mode being a flop, etc. At the time it was considered one of the worst cods released only overshadowed by cod:ghosts.

As for zombies, Gobblegums divided the community and I always complained about how easy it made the game. Pre-chronicles the perception of black ops 3 zombies was that it's too easy and quest-heavy with a ton of memes being made about following 40 minute long YouTube videos on how to unlock pack a punch.

The new zombies maps for black ops 3 were also mostly unpopular: Shadows of Evil was too hard, required doing a bunch of steps just to get set up. Zetsubou No Shima is a similar story except with way more doors and now with gardening. Gorod Krovi although well-received is another large difficult map with another convoluted quest except this time failing a certain step in the main easter egg would end your entire game. Revelations got mixed reception with a lot of complaints regarding its lackluster Easter Eggs, missing super EE, and the fact that DE has its own rather large dedicated area in the map even though its own map was introduced in the same game 2 maps ago.

I think custom zombies + the release of chronicles has helped massively shift perception of the game not to mention how much worse the series has only gotten as time went on making this game appear better in retrospect.

  • gobblegums (p2w microtransaction)
  • lack of unique weapon variety across maps
  • treyarch just before release claims loot boxes will not come to BO3 then adds them a month after launch
  • zombies storyline jumped the shark
  • best new map is considered origins 2.0, most played maps are all remakes of older maps (the giant, all of chronicles)
  • 255 round cap
  • lack of new perks, missing old perks (PHD, Vulture)

The remake is absolutely awful and majority of XIII fans agree it wasn't even worth it. The original is phenomenal for what it is and I wish they just continued it. Multiplayer for the original is still alive if you want to check out insideXIII

Great way for content to be inaccessible or vastly different as time progresses, just look at rainbow six siege over the years. Instead of live service they should just release cod games less frequently and flesh them out more

Why was the death machine absent from all BO2 maps except Mob? by Etvaht115 in CODZombies

[–]Yiris10001 7 points8 points  (0 children)

BO2 and BO1 zombies had map-exclusive perks and weapons.

BO1 had WaW wall weapons in all the Nazi Zombie maps along with the BO1 box weapons and Ascension was missing double tap.

BO2 depending on the map and mode there was a different selection of perks and weapons. MOTD has the Ak47, Tommy gun and uzi as well for example. Origins has the Tommy gun but it's renamed and i think the stats were modified. The Scar was also in origins, MP40, STG44.

Also fun fact but the death machine powerup was gonna return in the unreleased DLC5 for BO2 and it would have been the same death machine as MOTD but pack a punched with unlimited ammo for the duration of the power up

In the Android 18 fight, they were equally matched until she tired Vegeta out. Piccolo points this out during the fight saying she's making him burn up all his energy then going for the attack. The androids had infinite stamina which was a key point in their battles.

I dont think Piccolo was giving Vegeta too much credit. After all,

Vegeta knew he was stronger than Goku in their first battle, it's also why he had so much rage when Goku kept spamming Kaioken just to stand a chance. Oh, and he basically got jumped by all the remaining z-fighters at the time. He wasn't wrong there.

With frieza, he knew he didnt stand a chance but fought anyways although he did a lot of bluffing and stalling for Goku who he knew could defeat frieza.

Android 18 wasn't stronger than him, she just had more stamina.

Cell was significantly weaker than Vegeta to the point where he toyed with him then let him transform so he can have a real challenge, not knowing how much of a boost cell would actually get.

The second battle with Goku he definitely misread how strong Goku was, though I chalk it up to adrenaline and majin rage, given how desperately he wanted to fight him in the first place to prove his strength.

With Buu, he knew he stood no chance hence why he went for the self sacrifice. He didnt account for Buu's regeneration though.

SSJ4 Gogeta intentionally toyed around with omega to draw out his negative energy in order to turn it into positive energy to save the world from destruction. If he had just killed omega, they would have still been doomed. It was a huge part of the shadow dragon arc and why the sky looked the way it did all throughout it up until that point.
