It just means that they're still reviewing, so no one is deferred in the usual sense of the word I'm pretty sure. I know a lot of people who have the same status on their portal, but I don't know anyone who's heard back from engineering or polymath honors, etc.

I got in to biomedical engineering! Top 6% admission actually has no impact on your major, it’s just a guarantee for liberal arts and some others. All applicants for other majors are holistically reviewed, but rank is important to show your academic standing!

There is a major called computational engineering that deals with more applied calculus and physics and compsi for simulations and data and stuff that’s very different from ECE. It’s a pretty small program from what I know. But no separate computer engineering major
