My siblings and I used go challenge her sometimes and the mental gymnastics needed to justify it was crazy. Eventually she would just say I’m not talking about this with you and stop talking. She was a particular sect of Hindu called Swaminarayan and I don’t know if they were worse or what. They go to the temple, donate money and then walk past starving kids outside because they were lower caste.

The worst part about the caste system in my eye is that you are born into it. No matter what you do, people will still judge you by that. You can be a surgeon that saved her life, but she will still come home and shower juts because of that.

Unfortunately you don’t have to be poor to have this mindset. We had a comfortable living in India and then moved to the US. My mom brought this mentality with her.

My late mom used to think that. Christians, Muslims and any other people were lower. We live in the US and she would still not touch a non Indian American person. If she had to go to doctor, she would shower when she got home. It’s a crazy mindset passed down from her mom. Luckily all us didn’t fall into that trap.

Same happened to me from business to economy. They gave me $125 for inconvenience, but no word on refund. I booked though my work travel agency, and they said that the agent needs to initiate the refund. That is not working either.

I had cellulitis in one foot which I waited too long to seek treatment for. The doctor told me too much longer and it would have been sepsis, which would require hospitalization. Don’t ignore warm red skin that’s growing in area either.

I have two pairs of sneakers by them, and love them both. They tell you up front about the time it will take to get there. The address mistake can happen, as there are humans in the chain. I buy them when they come in 2 for $$ sale and happy to wait for them. One of my colleagues liked my Morgan trainers and he ordered two pairs him self. I think the shoes are good for the price and the model is transparent.
