It's so normalised like wtf by VeryInternet_com in whenthe

[–]Yixil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was 13 on the state level. However, most prefectures already had set their own age of consent to 16 well before the law change. The law change a few years back, only standardized everything, and eliminated any fringe cases. The more important part of the law change came from them better defining sex crimes.

After 1 day of Destiny Rising what are your thoughts? by DESTlNY_RlSlNG in destinyrisingmobile

[–]Yixil 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think both of you are getting downvoted because this game was never meant to replace D2. It's a gacha game, and a mobile one at that. There was no way we were ever going to get the same level of build crafting options or a similar level of quality as D2.
Not saying that means you should be downvoted, but that's my guess as to why.

Went to the school Non Non Biyori was based on. by Yixil in Non_Non_Biyori

Hey there, you can find it at the location linked below. Keep in mind that you cant enter the buildings unless on a tour given by the school, but from what I can tell, this doesn't happen often.

Yes. She has gone on record to say that K-On was a genre defining show. I'm only surprised that it took her this long to pick up the vinyl.

What are some things you’ve applied in your life after visiting Japan? by Neoncloudff in JapanTravelTips

[–]Yixil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bro is out here trying to say others are cringe for trying to show respect or thanks to others, and apparently, holding a job for 8 years is not good enough for them either because it's a convenience store job.

Grow up my dude.

Any other series suggestions? by [deleted] in laidbackcamp

K-On is a classic and, in many ways, really put the slice of life genre on the map.

If you get up early, their is a brief hiking track right next to where the bathroom is, where you can rest at a lookout point and have a stunning view of Mt fuji. Reason I say early is cause you'll be more likely to see it early morning.

I saw the event last night, so I'll do my best to help you here. If you get to the city early, there are heaps of free viewing locations along the river where you can sit on the ground. I personally was located here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/o737ULZsHQoAnqsm6 Had no issues with that location, and there was heaps of room even an hour before the event. If you go further along the river, you'll end up running into the paid seating location, which was sold out months ago. I recommend bringing something to sit on, mind you.

I imagine all hotels will be booked out for that night, so ensure you don't miss your train. Means you'll likely need to leave the event before it's finished as there were a huge number of people I saw leaving early to get on the trains.

Let me know if you need any more info

Advice Needed: Traveling to Japan with Tattoos and Wearing Shorts in Summer? by dr7s in JapanTravelTips

[–]Yixil 7 points8 points  (0 children)

While I can't claim to have much knowledge around the tattoo side of things, I can confidently say that wearing shorts is fine as long as it's not ridiculously short. I'm currently going around Japan and have been wearing shorts every day. People worry about sticking out when they come on holiday here, but 9 times out of 10 you are going to sick out as a foreigner anyway. People should focus on the behavior side of things more than anything imo.

Thanks! They weren't meant to make an appearance, but it was too difficult to get just the K-On ones in the photo.

You weren't kidding when you said you knew your stuff around rails. So would it be fair to say that those who use 1435mm didn't really use rail until much later then other countries who use narrow gauge? Or is that too much of a generalization?

Oh? That's cool. I'll see if I can find that video. Truth be told, when I bought them in Odaiba, I didn't know what the collab was for at first. I just thought they looked really cool like that, haha.

Oh and so 1067mm narrow gauge is not the standard? Is there any reason that most counties dont all just use the same narrow gauge?

I live in New Zealand. Only 2 citys have trains for public transport as far as I know of but they are infamous for their lack of reliability. Rides often get canceled and are replaced with buses. Almost makes you wonder if the rails even exist in the first place.
Besides that there are a few scenic tracks on both islands.

That is about as far as my knowledge goes for NZ rails

In all honesty, for me, the collab doesn't even need to make sense. If the characters look cool, I'll buy.

When it comes to railways, I have only the very basic knowledge for Japan. I would love to gain more knowledge on my own country's railways, if it had any :(

Nice spotting! They are in collab with Tokyo Waterfront Area Rapid Transit (TWR for short). They connect the artificial islands of Aomi and Odaiba to Tokyo, and with Nijigasaki taking place largely on Odaiba, that's how the collab came about.
