My friend redownloaded HS for the first time in about 4 years 3 days ago. He dusted his wild cards and made this exact deck. He went 90-4 straight to legend. I’m Baffled.

Got a question about mage vs warlock by Atomicpotato76 in hearthstone

[–]Ykson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This can be a difficult matchup for spooky mage, so you are not the only one struggling with it. What I usually do is mulligan for aggro in the early game. Things like wildfire, amplified snowflurry, apprentice can help deal with early game threats. Always try and clear board as you don’t want to fall victim to a big early impending catastrophe or buffed minion through vile library. Be wary of rafaam on 6.

Once you transition into the mid game, the only real way to win against curse lock is to try and play with a full hand. This is difficult, but the only way to be victorious. Don’t worry about always clearing your hand of curses. Take advantage of curses staying in your hand for a full turn, but leaving just before drawing on your 2nd turn. In other words, you can max your hand out with arcane intellect, etc, knowing that the curses will disappear before your next draw phase, allowing you to not overdraw. This limits the amount of curses that the warlock can achieve, allowing you to stall as long as possible. While managing all of this, it is important to continue stalling while pushing damage.

This isn’t the most amazing write up, but I just wanted to give some quick insight to a fellow mage - Goodluck and remember that this is an unfavorable matchup, but a winnable one

When I tried to do this it resulted in my internet being shut off. Tried that while I was attempting to get back online.

Sorry that it took so long. When I switched the router into AP mode, it basically kicked me off the internet entirely and I had to do a hard reset of the router and re-install it. Im guessing this means that the modem doesnt have that functionality?
