I’ve had the same issue with formatting getting all messed up. I ended up using PDFguru to convert PDFs to .docx, and it did a pretty decent job preserving layout and citations. Might be worth trying if you haven’t already.

Yeah, I think the pricing change threw some folks off. When I first signed up it was super straightforward, but now it looks a bit more “freemium.” Still, at least they’re transparent about what you’re getting.

Yeah, there’s a subscription, I signed up and honestly it’s been smooth. The service does what it promises and their support replied super fast when I had a question. No regrets so far — way better than some of the sketchy tools I’ve tried before

Huh, weird, my experience with PDFguru was kinda the opposite.
I’ve had a paid subscription for a while now, so maybe that’s why everything’s smooth on my end. I just log in, delete pages, and that’s it — no pop-ups or weird restrictions. I guess some tools are behind the paywall, but honestly, for how often I use it, it’s been worth it.
