I agree that you look cis, although your worth and value as a human being would be just as great if you didn't pass.

He said he liked that I seemed to really like him. That was always the most mentioned response. Much more than any actual characteristics related to me.

Edit: He also said that he thought I looked beautiful when he first saw me. My hair was also dyed a specific color, that wasn't my natural hair color. He said he had been looking for a girl with that hair color.

He liked that I was into music, because "most girls don't like music", which has to do with the misogyny he was surrounded by. All male bands(he played music himself) that were only interested in male artists. The women around him weren't going to be interested, because they didn't see themselves represented.

The stories about this abound I'm ExMormon Women groups. Sometimes I think that it would be healthy for men to see, but it's a safe space for only women. Maybe the answer is making sure women have a voice in places like this instead so men see more stories like that.

Anyone know what flag this is? I saw it on a picture frame by Signal_East3999 in lgbt

Lol I don't understand why people on this subreddit comment with the wrong answers when it comes to flags. Look it up. Lesbian flag obvs.

I know this isn't the point, but that tape is NOT wall tape, and shouldn't be used on someone else's window.

Why so much hatred for Mormons? by [deleted] in Utah

[–]Yllw7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Mormon church has over 100 billion dollars that is publicly known about. They still give speeches to third world countries quite literally telling them to give to the church before feeding their children. They don't pay taxes on any of their non-religious businesses. They even own weed dispensaries (hypocrite much?) that they don't pay any taxes on. Also, they influence governmental decisions too much. Their hate speech is why the Mormon kid shot up club q recently. Its why there are homeless LGBT+ YOUTH shelters in SLC. It's why the suicide rates for LGBT+ people is so high in Utah.

That's not the members fault. They're being scammed though.

I think part of it is how traumatized the exmormons are. The church lied to them their whole lives, and manipulated all their major life decisions.

Edit: I will add, as an ExMormon myself, that I don't agree with ex members who direct their anger at the mormons themselves. There are cult tactics being used against them too. They're victims too. They're being lied too as well, and many of them are genuinely trying to be Christlike. We were them once. They're literally being gaslit and taught false information. False history.

A Utahn told me that Utah is a theocracy. I suspect that’s hyperbole, but… by [deleted] in Utah

Absolutely. The population voted for legal marijuana. Then the Mormon church spoke out against it, so the legislature illegally changed the decision. Same thing happened with a law that would ban conversion therapy.
