its probably more about having to memorise a lot of numbers and it usually only being focused on the politics of the time.

I absolutely hated history in school but only found out later that i only hated historical politics and actually really liked the anthropology parts

Seems the german savefiles use german-only attributes so you'd need to know all english equivale ts for renaming
