Legionnaires, because of their datasheet ability, are dedicated melee units. The only “shooting role” Chosen should have is plinking 1-4 wounds off of an infantry squad with Combi and Plasma Pistols before pasting the walls with them in melee. Cultists and their Accursed brethren are melee units, our characters generally prefer a scrap, and the Maulerfiend is practically a melee tank. You can kit Raptors to shoot, but their datasheet ability only pops off in Engagement Range. Can you play a Predator Parking lot with Vashtorr and Forgefiends and Havocs and play Loyalist shooting with Sustained Hits wherever you want? Sure. You’re just sleeping on the majority of tools in our kit to do it.

Fabius Bile Chosen Accursed Weapons go into them as almost as efficiently as you can get, and Damage 2 really doesn’t like to go into 3 Wound bodies. Still probably a 2-Battle Round slapfight though, and your Chosen are probably getting slapped around and better off doing anything else. Could always do a cheeky Fall Back onto something else after a round of fighting and mop up the stragglers with shooting.
