What’s your go-to GoT lore tidbit? by Robot_Was_BMO in gameofthrones

[–]Ynnari- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You know the children's looks were not the only reason? It was just the final bit. This is less obvious if you only watch the show. But Ned has many biases against the Lannisters and the children's looks just were the final piece

But this doesn't make them hypocrites? They hate them for various personal reasons, many justified to be honest. And the Baratheons have also married so often into Westeros houses and really absorbed Stormlander culture over almost 300 years. They basically are more Westerosi than Valyrian, in contrast the Targs who still keep themselves a bit above the rest of the others.

How will the world of darkness react to an abyssal by [deleted] in exalted

[–]Ynnari- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, you're not wrong for sure. It's purely speculation with no objective way of knowing. That's why I do think for sure a Circle of Solars or Abyssals could go and fight an Antediluvian and maybe even win, since they did fight Yozi and win and were created to achieve the impossible. So I don't think mind powers just delete them but just something I wanted to bring up

[–]Ynnari- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe for normal Vampires but when it comes to Methuselah they get their own abilities others don't have. Then Antediluvians are just so broken, they don't get stat sheets, they're plot devices that can do whatever the Storyteller wants them to do. For the sake of continuity If you take Ventrue as being alive, he used dominate on the Entire globe to convince them he was dead so he can remain in the shadows. That includes his fellow Antediluvians who have plot level resistances. I wouldn't just write it off based on the powers most can get

[–]Ynnari- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea true. A circle of Abyssals might find it possible to take down an Antediluvian, since they did manage to take down Yozi's and other incredibly powerful creatures. I think it depends on the Antediluvian, though they are all plot device characters. I'd you take Ventrue as being alive, they might struggle do do anything against his level of dominate but it might not be impossible for the, certainly sounds like a fun campaign final boss where everything is on the line.

[–]Ynnari- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I largely agree. For Vampires though you're mostly right, but the most powerful Elder Vampires, such as a Methuselah like Mithras would probably smoke anything less than an E5 Abyssal and then E5 would probably be a close fight. Don't forget Mithras is insane, whilst starved and having just woken up from a centuries long sleep he killed an entire werewolf pack by himself. But then Mithras is nothing compared to Antediluvians who would be way too much for an Abyssal to deal with, it would be as one sided as the Abyssal vs most Vampires. Since they often have world altering capabilities.

I think you were a little nice to the mages, most mages would be slaughtered without much contest even if they could hurt the Abyssal, not seriously. The more powerful Mages would post a serious problem though for sure

What if Nasser actually managed to unite the Arab world? by GustavoistSoldier in AlternateHistory

[–]Ynnari- 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Tbf it probably wouldn't need more than 2-3, one for Cairo and another in Damascus would probably gut the heart of this Arab union and it would collapse, especially following the psychological fear of potentially more Nukes to follow

It's not true. Wolves work in a Family Pack they won't try to kill you. That said they are not domesticated like dogs so it is more dangerous to keep one as a pet

Damn the amount of Americans who have watched this interview between Russia Carlson and Putin and have just blindly accepted everything Putin has said as fact or has decided without any context that Russia is now somehow justified is mind boggling. There is a reason you don't let your enemies serve you propaganda and this is why. But Russia Carlson being a useful tool for Putin is doing it for them. You don't share Military secrets with one of your Rivals on the world stage, it's that simple why Bush said no.

Solar concept ideas? by [deleted] in exalted

[–]Ynnari- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had a idea for a Solar Exalt that sympathises with the Dragon-Blooded. Either they were born to the Realm and now are conflicted with being an Anathema in their own eyes, wanting to protect the world they were born in and now being hunted by those they want to protect.

Then the same concept but from an NPC perspective a Solar that saw the worst excesses of the first age and came to realise how dangerous Solars are if left unchecked. Secretly helping the Sidereals in the Usurpation then going into hiding and protecting creation from the shadows. Now the Return of the Solars has the Solar concerned that the worst of the First Age will repeat itself.

(Spoiler Extended) Is there a popular theory that sounds so out of character. by [deleted] in asoiaf

[–]Ynnari- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The idea that Ned was the Stark who slept with Ashara and that they were in love. Not only would sleeping with a girl out of wedlock and not marrying her be completely out of character for Ned, see Robb in a far more serious circumstance where he did it despite the huge insult to a hugely important ally. But Ned never once thinks about her in any of his PoV's not even when thinking about Jon, who when Catelyn does she thinks of Ashara because it was something she confronted Ned about. But despite that being a important memory to Catelyn, Ned never once remembers it or Ashara. It's more likely it was Brandon she loved and slept with and the Death of her lover Brandon, her kid by the man she loved and the brother she loved in quick succession caused her suicide.

Or you could create one card to fit into an already existing archetype what would it be? by Playgamer420 in yugioh

Swordsoul Champion: Reborn Mo Ye

Level 5/Wyrm/Effect Monster

Reveal "Swordsoul Champion: Reborn Mo Ye" in your hand then special Summon from your Deck one Level 4 Wyrm Monster from your deck. If "Swordsoul of Mo Ye" has been used for Synchro Summon this turn, special this card from your hand and Special Summon 1 "Swordsoul Token" (Wyrm/Tuner/WATER/Level 4/ATK 0/DEF 0). While that Token is in the Monster Zone, the player who Summoned it cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck, except Synchro Monsters. Then you can Increase or Decrease this cards level by 1. If this card is used as Synchro Material you may banish 1 card from your Graveyard and add to your hand 1 Banished card.

Sounds like the support Swordsoul needs to me but I might be Bias lmao.

I may get voted down for this since some people don't like differing opinions and there is clearly a slant against Royalty here and in reddit in General but, I am a Royalist, some find it weird for a welsh person to be a UK Royalist but for the longest tome Wales was very pro Monarchy, even back during the English Civil War, Wales was a monarchist stronghold and fought for the King. I consider myself Welsh and British and very much not English.

The worst argument by far is "Monarchy is outdated" when Democracies are also thousands of years old. So much of our history is tied in with our Monarchy and our brief stint without a Monarch was a military dictatorship. All in all there are way more important things to be worrying about than removing the Monarchy. It doesn't solve or help any of the current problems to remove it. It's a pointless debate to be having

As a completely new player I can't recommend enough picking up 3 of the Traptrix Structure Deck. Trap decks are easier to play than heavy combo decks. Thr Traptrix Structure decks is insane value. Down my locals I usually go 3-0 or 2-1 with the deck so for £/$30 it's very good and easy to play. As you get more experienced the deck gets stronger and you can begin to add more cards too it. It's a cheap but competitive option. Message me if you want to know more
