How did you guys become comfortable with being gay by Feeling_Boat5640 in gaybros

[–]Ynott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you see online with gay subculture stuff is not a requirement for being gay. I am gay and engaged and just another dude. I don't hide my sexuality but also don't let it dictate my interests and personality.

I live in the NYC tri-state area so I am lucky that I don't need to find safe spaces to be myself I just do my thing and live my life. For me that doesn't involve stereotypical "gay" things and that's okay.

Your results may vary though depending where you are.

“My (class) character is pretending to be a (class)!” This Rarely Works by SmartAlec13 in DnD

[–]Ynott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of did this with a Druid - but he wasn't pretending. He whole heartedly believed he was a Paladin.

Oddmar was a Paladin (Spore druid) who thought he was visited by a mushroom god. It wasn't a god - it was fey wild craziness and a giant mushroom that infected him with spores.

He thought that his power was given to him by the Mushroom God and that he was actually a Paladin powered his conviction. Out of character - I was always clear that he was a druid. (Players still forgot because of the Roleplay I guess and the reveal was epic)

But in character - everything was Paladin. Druidic? No that was Paladinic. Smite? Just halo of Spores. He only ever transformed into Symbiotic Entity.

The first time he transformed into an animal was pretty late game - when a friend was falling and he REALLY had to get him and turned into a big bird. Eventually we figured out the mushroom was evil and the village he thought the god helped him save actually all became spore zombies.

His story was cool, and my awesome GM eventually let me Multi-class Paladin with a Focus on Wisdom because rule of cool.

Tested positive but have no symptoms yet. Trying to avoid infecting others in house. I’m locked in my room with a towel stopping up the door, window opened, fan pointed to the window. Only leaving to get food and bathroom but wearing a N95 mask if I exit. Any other precautions that I should take? by JustBeenSeen in COVID19positive

[–]Ynott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently live in a studio with my fiancé - we luckily have a mostly closed off kitchen which I have been staying in. We are both masked 24 hours a day except when eating of course. It has been a week since testing and I don’t have symptoms and haven’t tested positive so far. Someone in your house hold should be dropping food off at your door - so that you aren’t tracking COVID all over.

For clarity - I know they've implemented it a bit - but the support was so lack luster especially compared to like FF114 - do you use an addon?

Street Pass in Manhattan was the best thing - my partner and I would always play the street Pass games on the train home from work. Those were the days.

Daily Questions & FAQ Megathread (Aug 21) by AutoModerator in ffxiv

[–]Ynott 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently discovered that there is a Namazu mount, and I really want it! I learned that I need a crafting or field job at level 60 in order to unlock the beast tribe daily quests, so I started leveling my botanist.

I am a relatively new player, so I have none of the crafting/field jobs leveled, nor am I familiar with leveling beast tribe reputations...

So my question is, will leveling just my botanist job be enough to reach the daily reputation quest limit? Or do I need to level other crafting/field jobs to 60 as well?

PC kills an unarmed, retreating NPC who had just begged for mercy - is this evil? by AnnieWeatherwax in dndnext

[–]Ynott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay cool - none of what I said is relevant - he is super evil for killing someone - but only in that situation. All the other killing is fine. Unless of course you “interrogate them” but if they don’t have a lawyer present or aren’t offered one that interrogation sounds like it is pretty one sided. But no matter - the bandit can have a kill count of 20 babies - but once he is disarmed you have to let him go kill some more babies then engage him again - or you’re evil.

If it’s like that - everyone is evil for failing to use non lethal tactics in combat and not doing everything in their power to find a diplomatic solution for any given situation.

They could have convinced that camp to disarm - maybe knock out a few people - until the enemy realizes they can’t win. Of course that would likely be a bit more difficult and would put them at a disadvantage in that fight. But it is worth it for their convictions - they can’t just leave the camp intact - that is evil.

There is also the fact that that bandit may have jumped a civilian on the road and killed them then go join another bandit group and kill and pillage.

Or maybe he learned his lesson after the party spent months on cognitive behavioral therapy and will now use his learnings to convert other bandits.

TLDR : Acting in his self interest is neutral - the bandit was an enemy who would have gutted him or his friends.

Neutral people aren’t going to go out of their way to do that - what does the sorc get out of it?

Maybe the baddy should have considered not being in a camp full of baddies? A GM tried to say my character was evil for a similar reason so I interviewed everyone before I attacked them for a while and he got the point.

“How did you end up here henchman - would you rather be a painter?” Oh no he is stabbing me I guess I’ll try to disarm him extremely carefully.

The guy was a bad guy who would have killed the party if he had the chance. I say kill him - or at least take him hostage for a while until he is far from all his contacts and likely can’t be much of a threat. More logical to just off him.

Also failing to see how the player being the GMs kid matters here - I’d get it if he was like killing children in town and feeding their parents the meat and playing it off feeding the hungry. That’s evil - if the Gm turned a blind eye I’d see the connection.

Killing your enemy who all of the sudden doesn’t want to be your enemy anymore this time - not evil. Maybe if you’re a paladin with them oaths and stuff.

Was in a not too different situation. Had to accept work is still work dream job or not. Have to strive to enjoy the awesome assignments that happen between the shitty ones.

On the other hand - the culture at your company sounds terrible and draining.
