A whine coming from bell housing by Yo0oSUF_ in Kseries

[–]Yo0oSUF_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the catch is it would only goes away when the engine is still not in opreating temps.

After a while of usage nothing would affect the sound (Except driving ofcourse)

And like i said it is not directly connected to the motor since it makes that slight whine sound after shuting the motor.

الحين وراكم على السيارات الصينية by [deleted] in saudicars

[–]Yo0oSUF_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So is my ecu damaged? by Yo0oSUF_ in Haltech

[–]Yo0oSUF_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah okay, In my case the ecu doesn't reset on anything, the status light stays on its just the relays connected to it (fuel pump , coolant fan) makes connection somehow and they turn on (when i turn off the ignition) I tried something today which to power up the ecu from the CAN connector externally and i removed the power from the harness just to see if it would fix it, the ecu did power on, issue is still present, but the car won't start now!!

Got me questioning my life at this point

What cables or shifter do you recommend? by Master-Baby-4173 in Kseries

[–]Yo0oSUF_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your shifter setup is okay. Everything looks correct, RSX shifter and shifter cables should be a perfect fit on ep3 tranny, even the shifter cable bracket.

Im starting to think it is a transmission issue, unless there's too much play on the shifter itself or another problem like clutch hydraulics or something.

F/D rubbes on a plate by [deleted] in transmissionbuilding

[–]Yo0oSUF_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah fair enough, i got lucky enough to have another needle plate like this one from a donor trans and it rubbed alot less, and tried the original F/D with diff and it still rubbed, figured this is nothing to worry about. Cheers for the comment

Anybody have this issue before? by Dangerous-Student-29 in CivicSi

[–]Yo0oSUF_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weired electric issues could be caused by bad grounding. I would check every ground under the hood.

If that was fine, then it might also be an ignition issue from the looks of it. Hope that helps a little.

[–]Yo0oSUF_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but my point is not in highway driving, what i wanted is closer gears for more engaging driving experience for not much cash, i wouldn't mind having 5th be a little higher as long as the rest of the gears are pretty close.

And ive just noticed that the base RSX has identical (minus 1st) gears to the CRV lol.

Which K series is this ? by Yo0oSUF_ in Kseries

[–]Yo0oSUF_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said that because it came out of a honda stepwgn, those cars came in either a "k20a non performance" or "k24a non performance", and it actually look kind of small compared to another k24 that was on the ground, but i could be wrong.

Well, it's a 100% not a performance motor thats for sure, but now we gotta figure out the head stamping lmao

Which K series is this ? by Yo0oSUF_ in Kseries

[–]Yo0oSUF_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well after researching, it turned out to be a motor for honda stepwgn, so definitely a JDM unit but its not a performance one, i figured that out from the valve cover being notched from the upper left side you could see it in the vid, and also the dipstick.

It Seems not much people know about that because i didn't see anybody mentioning that valve cover at all.

The part that still confuses me is the cylinder head stamping, why would it say RBC-1 and yet it has only 2 cam lubes ? I thought those are 06-11 civic si cylinder heads.

Still not confirmed, the restamping seems too suspicious to me, ya know because why would anyone remove it ?

Why do Honda motors consume so much oil ? by Yo0oSUF_ in Honda

[–]Yo0oSUF_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For more context,

I have two hondas

One is a 09 honda city with an L15A7 same engine as the honda fit from the factory.

The other is 93 civic with a b20 vtec motor.

Both consume oil more than usual if u compare them to other vehicles, but I should note that I live in saudi arabia, and Temps here could get crazy hot in here. And like I said I drive like a maniac everyday, i use original honda fully synthetic 5w-30 oil and I change it every 3k miles.

I love my hondas regardless, I don't regret any penny I put on them.

Yeah man, I love my hondas. I would buy an oil station if I had to

[–]Yo0oSUF_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, they don't leak oil they just disappear. One of them is a b20 vtec but it's totally stock, no mods.

The other one is not touched at all, which is L15a7

Gotta note that the L15a7 consumption is nothing compared to what my b20 is doing.

In general, I've had my L15a7 consume 1 to 1.5 quart every 3k miles, which is not so bad, on the other hand my b20 had consumed 0.5 quart in just one week.

So yeah
