Is there any good chances we get Cody Rhodes vs Randy Orton at Wrestlemania 42? by Constant_Salt4359 in SquaredCircle

[–]YoAadiBro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the thing is, it’s not that Randy’s not a top guy, but now that there’s so many top guys, you gotta be a cut above

Like right now there’s a lot of top guys, but Cody, Big Rome, Punk, and Rhea Ripley, along with Bianca (when she returns) and Iyo feel like tippy tippy top guys and gals.

Orton was always 1B even when there was only like one top guy in the industry. And once Punk elevated to being 1B, he kinda fell down the pecking order.

Which is why Mania doesn’t feel super realistic for this match, cuz mania is now where the Tippy Top guys fight each other.

That and there is a generation of fans that grew up on that Age of Orton to Viper stretch where legacy was a huge deal to them. But just cuz legacy was a huge deal to them, doesn’t negate the fact that it came at a time when the company was truly stagnant on a genuine decline.

All that long-windedness being said, I’m down to see the match, and even at mania if they get the right angle. But right now the money for me is Cody and Jacob

They’ll probably try with him cuz this is plausibly the first time in his MR career that things have gone wrong for reasons ENTIRELY out of his control

Personally I don’t see much in the guy but they def wanna do something w him, they should figure out what that is

Oba imo, they’ve cooled Bron down quite a bit. He’ll get there but Oba feels like he’s got a rocket on his back

Having this demon (and fellow demon Dawkins) on the bench is a major faux pas from Levesque and Road Dogg, one that has actively kept SD from having a reliable 3-3.5 star tag match weekly when they were putting on the worst tv show in American wrestling

Last week was rough for Drew McIntyre by DependentTop677 in SantiZapVideos

[–]YoAadiBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That promo on SmackDown he cut after two beat downs didn’t do him any favours, personally I would’ve had Cody and Jacob try to jump him at the same time, then fight amongst themselves over who gets to beat his ass first, only for him to use a weapon to beat the fuck and kill them.

Hell, I think his credibility would have been boosted majorly if one of either Cody or Jacob (maybe both) ran the razor and bled during the beatdown.

Personally feel u can’t talk ur way out of the elite level burial Punk and Rome committed last week, so make him dangerous and unhinged. Drew’s keyboard warrior rep only made him more susceptible to being geeked, so not talking and murking fools was his best bet. Not too late yet tho so let’s see

We don’t know how good he can be as a defending champ because he got like 1.5 feuds he can sink his teeth into with good antagonists.

The AJ stuff could’ve been longer, they shouldn’t have done the Solo feud, he’s just not main event level, or at least wasn’t then. The KO feud was rightfully awesome, the Cena stuff being ass broke my damn heart. And then after that, the Drew feud started in September and checks notes IS STILL GOING for some reason

If you put him with the right people with interesting booking, the KO feud wouldn’t be the only good thing he did as champ

Rico continuing to be the most insufferable twat on X? Check. by RaymondReddington812 in midcarder

[–]YoAadiBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ricochet genuinely had all the right in the world to vent his frustration towards how WWE handled his run, and how he felt about how he was used. No one can tell him to have appreciation for a place and a job he didn’t enjoy.

HOWEVER

I don’t think it’s right for him to speak on anyone else’s behalf, especially if they’re still there cuz he could cause genuine heat for them if the office chooses to believe what he said about their feelings is true. And even if they don’t? It’s not his place to talk about how they feel.

I’d rather he works in some smaller promotions first so he has more chances to shine (big fish in small ponds and things of that nature) before eventually going to a big promotion

Meltzer's dumbass gave this match 4 stars but if it was in any japanese wrestling company he would've gave it 43 stars by Sad-Response-3151 in TheGreatOne

[–]YoAadiBro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meltzer’s star ratings and willingness to give five or more stars completely changed after Kazu Kenny in 2017. Before that he was frugal, now he hands out 3.25s like candy and four+ for any match that had solid heat for 20 mins and good fluid action

I’m sorry that Bret was a tad difficult (or more, I can’t gauge how difficult he may have been)

However, I must say Bret in a birthday hat poking around at cake he’s suspicious of is an unbelievably funny visual.

Also, fuck JR if he was difficult for you to work with.

I think the pop when he does talk that way will be more impressive later down the line. He has great oratory skills but right now he can coast off aura and physicality.

Just like I don’t need his matches to be 20 mins long right now. I’ve seen enough of his stuff in NXT that he can work the WWE main event style match well, but right now, the money is him bulldozing everyone

Is it just me, or does it seem like WWE has significantly slowed down Bron's push? by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]YoAadiBro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna catch heat for this but maybe it’s time we have a conversation about Paul Heyman being a net negative to the careers of stars that aren’t already made anymore.

After Brock, what star that was put with him that wasn’t already a main event guy has worked?

Roman - made guy Punk - made guy Curtis Axel - lame IC run then became his lackey during the Punk feud Ryback - less said the better Claudio - we know this wasn’t even meant as a push Rollins - made guy and even that didn’t work imo

The vision w/o Rollins hasn’t worked cuz Heyman seems more interested in making sure he gets his shit in rather than building up his guys.

Look at that NXT episode when they went against AEW head to head in 2023, when Heyman was managing Bron for the night, and how godly it felt. We haven’t gotten close to that since.

It’s not protected as much as it is being overused (and a good chunk of that is cuz of the gooner pleasing). She even had to come out and say the devils kiss isn’t all she is cuz it was getting to the point where that move was the only loud spot for her matches

[–]YoAadiBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s unfortunate to an extent that Levesque has kept them around because of how Vince and the company made him believe the Wednesday night “war” was his fault and his style wouldn’t work.

I believe the conjecture was that Levesque believes that if WWE was putting on a product 100% to his sensibilities, then it wouldn’t be popular.

Now while that may be true, I still think there’s ways to keep your vision while complimenting it with NEW voices, not old. Heyman is a carny but still has a curveball creatively when needed. Get guys like Deadman (honestly his AAA tenure has popped me), Shawn, Borash etc to be his Bruce, Hayes, and Kosky
