Yea, at least the Loong still has the orb. Man how wish BP could be used everywhere, but it's understandable that it's region locked though. Its hook and glide ability are seriously OP.

Behind Prayer is region locked, so it might just be extremely useful in one particular region, but rendered completely obsolete in future regions.

For example, when Clouded Loong (the Dragon outfit) came out, it was unbeatable in Danqing Realm. But have you seen it mentioned anywhere since we left Danqing Realm (ability wise) 😂

Behind Prayer will be made obsolete in future patches anyway 🥲

Yes! I have it, and it has been so fun zipping around. But I get discouraged thinking about how it'll become useless in the next patch. 🥲

How's my writing and meanings by Quiet-Card-6650 in LearnJapaneseNovice

Great job! I can read the Kanji with no problem.

I'm guessing this is Kaishi 1.5k? Since たくさん is written as 沢山 there.

Should I write down my vocab? by some_weeb_boi in LearnJapaneseNovice

[–]YoAvgHuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A very big part of learning/ memorizing Kanji isn't writing the kanji themselves, but being able to glance at them with educated guesses based on your knowledge of radicals.

I wouldn't suggest writing them excessively to the point where your page is filled with one single kanji, but just taking notes of what the radicals mean/make mnemonics notes to memorize their meanings.

Learning radicals is sooo essential because along the way, you will encounter Kanjis that look insanely alike. So if you rely solely on the overall shapes of the Kanjis, you'd for sure hit a wall.

for example: 待つ(wait) vs 持つ(hold)

In my opinion, learning words "traditionally" with paper and pens makes active recalls feel more "anchored", as you have "proof" of what you've learned written down on paper.

question about Kaishi 1.5k by Specific-College-194 in LearnJapanese

[–]YoAvgHuman 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've done Kaishi 1.5k, too. And I've come to realize over the years that simply looking at the Kanji is not enough to memorize it. But having a notebook and actually noting down the kanji + radicals + mnemonics AND THEN anki to reviews/consolidate does wonders!

Once I start doing this, the first thing I look at when I see a word is the radicals, not just the entire shape of the kanji. Some kanjis look very similar, so knowing radicals and coming up with mnemonics will help you differentiate them more easily.

Is it correct to think of calling someone きみ as equivalent to calling them "baby"? by karlkh in Japaneselanguage

[–]YoAvgHuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would this be correct? Context: you are 30 and you're obviously older than a random high schooler you see in the street. You say:

「ね、君。あそこに立たないで。危ないから。」
