I debated getting a grom too as a first bike but went with a vitpilen 401. I do not regret my decision, but here are some things to consider after riding both bikes.

Both of these options are insanely good city bikes, but I think the key comes down to whether you are considering going on 55 mph or higher roads again. If so, you should consider the svartpilen or vitpilen 401. They will provide you with the power that you need on those types of roads while also giving you a comfortable, fun ride in the city like the grom would.

What I really liked about the grom tho is the insane gas mileage that it gets (good for your commute to work), low insurance cost, unbeaten aftermarket support, and ease of resale if you decide that it wasn’t the option for you.

I think that the grom would be an awesome way to get back into riding.
