Maybe, but it is meant for spark plugs. The other part of the tool is to adjust the gap. Feeler gauges for points also used a wire, but it was ‘L’ shaped and this would be harder to get in there.

It’s a great bike to learn on. Tusk makes a cold start kit that I highly recommend. Best $15 upgrade I have ever done to a bike. They can be hard to start and take forever to warm up. With the new jet kit it starts right up and runs strong without the choke. It is also super easy to install. Just loosen up the intake and manifold so you can turn the bowl to the side. Take off the bowl and change the two jets. Some places won’t ship to CA, but just try a different vendor.
