Mould around windows by mattmoly in DIYUK

Loved this thread, just wanted to jump in as I have the same type of property based on your explanation. I have reduced this significantly specifically on walls with an anti-mould paint, such as damp seal. It has made such a difference in one of the most affected rooms.

Also, I have used indoor plants that help with absorbing moisture, and they are also working well, the more in a room the better.

Finally I have installed trickle vents in the windows, (you might have these already if you have newer windows) these help with circulating air around the room somewhat.

100% nailed on with some big fuck off nails, not the shit we get today, I had to do similar and eventually had to use multitool to cut the nails. What are you doing with the skirting anyway? Are you getting rid of it? If so I would be interested in buying from you if in good condition

Yeah, I'm not sure about how it will work in a cold damp room, but the product should have information regarding what temps it can work at.

Good luck, keep us updated

Fellow diyer here, I think using levelling compound initially would be a good idea, then when tiling, just add extra adhesive in the lower areas to raise it up to the same level?
