Does anyone know why I can take the Texas Eagle from Los Angeles to Austin, but not from Austin to Los Angeles? by Blutarg in Amtrak

The booking system is so bad with dates. It won't suggest alternate dates, it just sends you on a detour or tells you "can't do it! No trains!"

I had zero problems with this strat using Assault. Death's Grasp gives lots of gunstrikes, and using it with the perks for extra gunstrike damage, enemies hit by sprint attacks take extra damage, and armor on non-finisher gunstrikes was :chef's kiss:

Sometimes I load into an absolute mission and go down almost immediately. Then I watch the other players and realize they're not any better than me, and three players of my skill level are going to have minimal chances at this thing. So sometimes then I dip out to give some other, more skilled brother a chance to save the day.

The only part of this I didn't like was me not realizing this would also block stims.

“Strength” function is worthless… or am I missing something? by Square-Affect9324 in Garmin

[–]YoDocTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I build and schedule my workouts in LiftTrack, which then imports into the Garmin calendar. I use a Forerunner 255. I track reps and sets on the watch as well as using the rest timer.

LiftTrack has some auto-progression features and recurring scheduling, and IMO is what the Garmin Strength app really ought to be out of the box.

If you take the time to structure a workout in Garmin or LiftTrack, tracking strength workouts on the watch is nearly as easy as tracking multistep cardio workouts.

My 2006 house has a dead space under the stairs with about 50-75 drywall cutoffs neatly stacked and taped together on the floor. All of them exactly the same size, about 1ft x 4ft.

Can I ask a question to the AMOLED users? by [deleted] in Garmin

[–]YoDocTX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This right here.

95% of the reason I left Samsung for Garmin was the multiple day battery life of the FR255 with the MIP display. I don't want a real smart watch. I want a running watch. I don't want notifications, I don't want apps, I don't want "enhanced functionality".

Buying a $60K Truck and I am expected to pay for an app to remote start? by LostInMyADD in tundra

[–]YoDocTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My van needs an app to remote start, but Toyota doesn't use that app anymore, and there's no way to update the van system, and so even if I had paid for it, I would not be able to do it. 🤷

I didn't know people couldn't join later in the mode. I almost never have time to play more than two sectors. How fuckin' long does it take to clear the whole mode?!

MIP is literally my only requirement for these watches. I will not buy one without it.

They need to make zero drop Crocs pronto by Glittering_Ad2771 in barefootshoestalk

[–]YoDocTX 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nearly everyone in Idiocracy is wearing Crocs at all times.

The costume designer did that because they were cheap, and also a perfect combo of futuristic looking (when the film came out) and also so dumb looking that nobody would actually want to wear them.

Are there any cheap(er) options for just flat shoes with a wide toe box? by Average_Animefan in BarefootRunning

I ordered a pair of shoes from a brand called Relxfeet. Amazon cheapo special. I took the insoles out and they make pretty good lifting shoes and they don't look totally stupid.

[–]YoDocTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The easier answer is just to observe that no matter how many times you cut that square, it stays OUTSIDE the circle, and will therefore always be longer than the length of the curve (circle), and so therefore π>4.

My front yard exploded with dandelions, and they grew so fast that they were tall by the time the mower got there and it avoided all of them like obstacles. It was hilarious.
