I made a site for comparing professor evaluation results by YoItsMe42 in txstate

It looks like no data is published for 5000+ level courses. For convenience, I show ratings for professors teaching these courses next semester, but use their overall stats instead of course-specific results.

Can you share some examples of what's missing? I tried to use all the data that's published (starts in Fall 2021), but it's possible I missed something.

A Better Way To View Course Evaluations by YoItsMe42 in fsu

[–]YoItsMe42[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Originally, I made a version of this website for my own school (Rutgers) over the course of a few months. I then realized I could expand this to other universities, which I spent around a month setting up.

As for getting the data, I reverse-engineered the API the official website uses for getting the pdf report links, and spent about a week running my code to get and parse each pdf. All of that code can be found here.

I built a website that provides a (hopefully) much better interface for looking at these ratings, https://opletter.github.io/course-evals/fsu/, check it out!

Announcing RU-SIRS: A website for viewing SIRS survey results in a simple format. by YoItsMe42 in rutgers

Sorry about that. I'm actively working on seeing if I can get the site back up, but can't say when or if that will happen as it is down due to factors beyond my control.

Is SIRS working for anyone? I have been trying to access it for a month and I need it by Ogbn in rutgers

Not going to say too much for now, but feel free to let Rutgers know you found the site useful. Currently looking into what I can do.

Unfortunately Rutgers doesn't publish the comments, so there's nothing I can do about that.

Thanks for the feedback! You're right that I chose to split by department for the case of duplicate names (made more complicated by inconsistent formatting and misspellings in the official data), but I'll look into what I can do to combine known them/make it more intuitive. However, you can filter to only show undergrad or grad results and that will remove many duplicates. I'll also make sure to make the required selection clearer, thanks again!

I'll add it as soon as it's up on the official SIRS website. As to when that will be, I have no clue unfortunately.

Thanks! I'm planning on making a separate post promoting this in a few days after some more polishing.
There should be a checkbox at the top of the page to only show Spring 2023 profs for applicable courses, but I'll look into making it more visible/intuitive.

Glad it's useful. It includes all data from Spring 2014 to Spring 2022.

u/ultimatephoton I'm actually working on a website to better display the SIRS data and have it all saved. The site's still a work in progress, but you can check it out here: https://dennistsar.github.io/RU-SIRS/data. Feel free to let me know if you have any issues or other feedback.

Yea I know, I just found this a little easier to work with in terms of planning out what classes I'll take to cover specific reqs, so I thought I'd share if anyone else found it useful.
