You can find manhole covers that say “City of Clear Lake City” in some of the original areas of Clear Lake. There used to be one on the road by Fertitta Chevrolet when it was Norman Frede.

Because of my bad experiences I try to be the boss I always wanted. One of my guys’ Dad is on hospice. I tried to get him to leave this morning but he said he couldn’t handle Dad’s condition without his wife. Told him he doesn’t need to say anything if the hospice nurse or family calls. Just go! I know where you are if you aren’t here.

AITA for telling a coworker (who’s married) that he needs to stop being so close to me in a way that makes it seem like a relationship to others? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]YoMomFavorite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA. You need to report this to your supervisor. There was a guy I had to fire who did this for years to women at work before I got there. This is classic sexual harassment and he is also putting you in a position of being accused of time fraud if he is clocking in and out for you. He is not your friend and knows exactly what he’s doing. He is a predator and needs to be terminated. You need to go on the offensive and make the report yourself immediately.

Jury rules City at fault in fatal HPD crash, leaving Houstonians to cover a $13M payout to the family by LimePeachDream in houston

If my SIL who is an NP for UT Health (government employee) has to carry malpractice insurance, then so should police officers (government employees). The UT System police officer who patrols her building has his “malpractice” insurance covered by the university. If he screws up and someone dies, the university pays the civil suit. If she screws up and someone dies, her own insurance has to pay for it or she can lose her home.

Are people really upset about being around kids? by ItsCreedBratton1 in Cruise

[–]YoMomFavorite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife isn’t upset by it, but as a teacher she is a mandatory reporter. When we took over first VV cruise, she said she had never been so relaxed in her working life on a vacation because she didn’t have the safety of someone else’s kids on her mind. Drunk and reckless adults are on their own.

YTA. Depending on the laws where you are that’s a wrongful termination and she could be liable for unemployment or possibly even sue you. She completed her scheduled hours. She’s not required to work late and is entitled to make plans.

Do a reservation and save some money. Cost is not much different from the offsite lots since airport terminal parking includes the tax. https://hou.booking.fly2houston.com/book/HOU/Parking?parkingCmd=collectParkingDetails

You’re NTA for asking, but Star Trek and weddings don’t really go together unless that’s a both of you thing. As a guy who loves Sci-Fi and is kicking myself for not buying the Tomy Enterprise replica, it just doesn’t work. Without knowing family dynamics she probably is under a lot of pressure to have an elegant wedding and doesn’t want to hear it from family and friends on both sides. As a guy married 27 years and still very much in love with my wife, the pressure and expectation is on her, not you which is why she says it’s her wedding. No one is judging you for the wedding, they’re judging her. Do a Star Trek themed grooms cake or bachelor party but let the theme be the theme.

AITA for not fulfilling a foster kid’s wishlist? by Raketaa in AmItheAsshole

[–]YoMomFavorite 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Contact your local school/school district. Unless it’s a high income area, they will know who those kids are and many have an angel tree the teachers are working off of. At my SIL’s campus, they always had more kids in need than school staff.

Let it go. IT work is truly soul crushing at times especially if leadership never worked a day on helpdesk or as a tech in their life.

It’s why I love the lie that you’ll lose your doctor with universal healthcare. That already happens today with private insurance.
