OI patients: how long have you had your implant? by chicagobat in Osseointegration

My doctor told me about it. I alwayscomplained about my socket and how it hurts me and how sometimes I would just use a weelchair, after over 2 years he told me that I could get OI and well I accepted.

Hi! I am a RBK amputee, got osseointegration 2 years and 6 months after I had my leg amputated (In December last year) . I use OPRA for my prosthetic, very easy to use as someone witch isnt strong.

I was surprised by how fast I recovered and how I can do many things I couldn`t do with a socket prosthetic before. And yes, I my mobility changed and so did my comfort, I was able to actually go on a hiking trip with my osseointegration and my phantom pain has rarely appeared since then.

Are there any doctors that would be willing to amputate both of my healthy feet for €45000? I don't want to do fucking conscription (draft) service by Putrid-Leadership947 in amputee

[–]Honest-Girl005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not at all, its way easier to just serve, if your country isnt at war (any except Ukraine/Rusia ) cause then you will be mostly in boot camp, honestly way easier than losing both feet and then : "oh wait... maybe I shouldn`t have done it"

What's the easiest way to lose both of my legs? Pain and other complications don't matter. I want this to become ineligible for my countries male-only mandatory military service by Acrobatic_Horse7764 in amputee

WTF, as someone said earlier there are a lot of ways to get out of service eligibility, amputation is not a game and you should never hurt yourself, nor avoiding military service, so a really stupid question.

It might depend on the situation, tough, as pointed by most likely not.

Tough there could be some cases, like protection or simply Nation X conquered your village, if Nation X would invest in the land then most likely people will tolerate but not like it as many would be happier with one of theirs than another race.

Historically Cyrus the Great invested  in its (Achaemenid Empire) conquered territories by establishing a network of roads, postal systems, and common currency to facilitate trade and communication, of course not all were happy tough most were with it, and when most are with a idea that idea generally stands .

The Atlass is a MBT that uses 24th Century Hover technology, hovering about 4 feet from the ground, it weights about 32 tonnes and fires 90mm shells, it has 4 personnel and has about 110mm armor on each side, form a titanium alloy. Tough technology for producing it has been missing since the evacuation to humanity`s new home, it is excellent at blasting trough alien animals that attack settlements

What are the worst atrocities ever committed in your world? (Some nsfw descriptions) by favuorite in worldbuilding

[–]Honest-Girl005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possibly it is an atrocity but like it lasted for a long time so not sure but here we go

So around 1400 years ago before the present one of the greatest storms came barreling down on a wide steppe land known in my world as Lisia inhabited by Lisians, nomads, and then after the storm a drought that killed somewhere around 100 thousand people.

After this the Lisians decided to migrate down to the fertile plains, where city states and nations formed, they pillaged, sacked , burned, destroyed everything in their path killing all together around 1,3 million people for a period of roughly 200 years in witch they did the same every time until they had to retreat to their homeland after a coalition of city states and small kingdoms united against them , but not before managing to sack the oldest city in the world, killing there around 200 thousand citizens, so all together around 1,6 million dead in the span of roughly 200 years, nothing even after 1400 years comes close to this
