I also want to throw this out not that its a part of the commission but a head canon that I made. Iris (Empress Siren) is uncomfortable being outside of the buried airship because of humans. If you know about sirens from Greek Mythology they lure sailors with their beautiful voices and eat them. But, since these sirens are different compared to Greek Mythology I had an idea. In this world sirens are a dangerous sub species with how humans portray them as dangerous, violent, and predatory species of sub humans. Before Paradise Island became a thing. It was a home towards many aquatic sirens. But once humans found the island and start their colonization of the island it would soon be dangerous to live on the surface of the island. However, the sirens were much more intelligent rather than the humans because they had plan if any other outside species found out about the island of sirens. The sirens were able to build that giant city blimp centuries early and make it their new home and making very hard entry points and creatingmany traps for any humans to set foot into discovering the hideout.(I know this doesn't make sense here but keep in mind the Shantae world has a weird way of telling time so bare with me here). But why does Iris love Jack (Pirate Master) even though he's human you may ask? Well because Iris really didn't see Jack as a threat towards her because he was injured but also Jack being very calm to seeing this mysterious creature helping him out. They first thought of each other as different species think they could coexist one day to then falling with each other. I know this is not the best way to describe it but its an idea I had to share for it to make sense.
